"We always talk about the offense's job in a game like this--get two first downs, get the ball to midfield and let's get the ball down inside the ten yard line."
Never thought I'd hear a quote like that from Urban.
Again, a change after the half is what resulted in positive yardage with Weber running to the outside. Had absolutely 0 to do with Tate playing, since Haskins was in.
Tate came in for a drive that ended with a false start on 4th and 1 when the Bucks were going to go for it, forcing a punt, followed by a fumble on a snap in the red zone.
Have you guys actually gone back to watch the game?
they don't referee fuck them
Gaaaaawwwwwwrrrrrrryyyy puzzled.....shocked I tell you shockedEven the announcers were puzzled.
The SEC fix was in on Bama's first offensive series. The Bama player fumbled but they called it dead. There was a shit ton of time for the replay booth to call down to pause the action. Even the announcers were puzzled.
Bonus points for the John L. gif!Haven't rewatched it yet, but I'm happy both for a 20 point win and that the game was over. If this was a team after week 4, I'd be concerned but cautiously optimistic. Unfortunately it's now week 11 and this team is in no man's land offensively. Pieces are still there it looks like an engine without oil.
Anyway, here's the GIFcap:

Regarding Tate Martell usage;
His first snap was at the 5. He takes it and gets 4 yards to the 1, setting up the only offensive TD of the first half.
No drive was killed.
Interesting how it was what, a 3-5 point spread and yet we drop in the polls after beating Sparty by 20 pts. We nearly double the rushing yardage that the best rush D in CFB gives up per game but we drop in the polls. OSU plays lights out on D and Special Teams only giving up 6 points yet we drop in the polls. We beat a top 20 team on the road but we drop in the polls.
Go figure
I’m not saying Tate is even directly responsible, but I am saying drives stalled out with him taking snaps.
2. The Tate Martell experiment had mixed results, mostly negative. Martell first entered the game with Ohio State facing a 4th-and-1 at the Michigan State 35-yard line with about a minute left in the third quarter. The Buckeyes promptly committed a false start penalty when Martell and center Michael Jordan couldn't get on the same page regarding the snap. After the penalty, Ohio State punted (more on that later). Martell re-entered the game midway through the fourth quarter with Ohio State leading 19-6 and looking to sweep the leg. The Buckeyes had the ball 1st-and-10 at the Michigan State 21-yard line. Martell ran three read-options (all hand-offs to Mike Weber) that got the ball down to the Michigan State 4-yard line. On third down, Martell fumbled a snap from Michael Jordan and Sparty recovered. The snap was admittedly bad, but Martell had a good chance to recover. It appeared that Martell tried to pick up the ball and make a play when simply falling on it would've been the only right move. A field goal would've given Ohio State a nearly insurmountable 16-point lead, and the extra play would've allowed the Buckeyes to run another 40 valuable seconds off the clock. After the fumble, Martell's day was over.
