Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

Great Question, I am hoping that Hugo can contribute this year, he has the potential to win at the top of the line up or minimally add depth.
He graduated from high school in 2013, and with age limits in NCAA, a red or gray shirt this year would probably not benefit him, extend his eligibility to 6 years past graduation.
I have no inside information, and reluctantly speculate, based on what I saw...
His presence but non-participation in pre-match warm ups, (gray shirts and red shirts typically drill and practice with the team),
I am leaning towards an injury.

Bucks add another victory to the NCAA record of consecutive home wins, blanking sec power kENTUCKY by a 4-0 score.
The win also avenged a tough 4-1 loss at Lexington last year.
Next up the Buckeyes travel south to another sec power Texas a & m for a Sunday contest.
A home match next week vs. usf will give an opportunity for a 200th consecutive home win!

Not going to lie - I was very worried about the UK matchup and I'm thrilled to see them win it 4-0!

Going to A&M is a very tough trip.....we pulled a close one at home last year 4-3 and this one on the road will be that much tougher but I have faith!

Count me As concerned preseason with KENTUCKY coming into Columbus.
Of the visiting teams with greatest potential for snapping THE home win streak, UK was number 3, behind 1. Oklahoma, and 2. Notre Dame.

Road trip to A&m will be brutal for this young team, especially if the weather permits for an outdoor match.
northern teams traveling south to begin outdoor play will run into teams that have not only home court, passionate crowd (a&m students are loud and numerous). Bucks will also face a significant disadvantage from having to quickly adjust to outdoor style of play.

Re: Metka falls in the tie-breaker 9-7 and that match heads to a third set. Buckeyes still lead 3-2 overall

Two tie breaker sets (7-6 and 6-7) for Metka. This one could be a "winner take all" match and it could very easily come down to another tiebreaker.

ANyone else remember Metka's performance vs Florida in the NCAA tournament last May?

Kobelt (#1) wins his point (6-4, 7-6)

Bucks 3 - Gators 3

It all comes down to Metka (#6) now.

Metka wins tiebreaker 10-8 and match 6-3, 5-7, 7-6

Buckeyes advance to play UCLA Sunday @ 4 PM
