Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

Guess this proves the old adage, "if you cannot beat them, join them". Since tOSU tennis guys were very senior laden, this might bridge the gap between the old and new. Gracel, might you know/show the recruits (by year), and maybe rankings? Would very much like to see how the overall team shapes up for next year. Thanks in advance.

Next years roster will be younger but Tucker is looking to coach up a team chock full of talent.
There are two player rankings, UTR which is universal tennis rankings, and ITA formula called WTN.

ITA lists thr 2024 Buckeye roster with ranking formula called WTN. https://colleges.wearecollegetennis.com/OhioStateUniversityM/Team/Roster

Thanks Gracel, this is good stuff to know. Yeah, looks like some holes may have been filled. Not certain (at all) what the WTN ground zero/basis would be, but would I be safe in saying that the college players have earned their ranking/rating against college competition, and the freshmen have earned theirs against HS kids? That might account for the disparity between the 'oldies' and the 'newbies'. Just asking....the UTR's seem to be more consistent. How many from New Albany?

Its not just JJ Wolf who got his training in the tennis factory at the Ty Tucker center in Columbus.
Big game James, won the finals in both singles and doubles on the challenger tour today.
Trotter was developed by Coach Ty Tucker, graduated in '23 and is cashing some major paychecks on the pro tour.

Callahan was a four-year letterwinner for the Buckeyes from 2011-15

Former Ohio State player and coach Hunter Callahan is making his return to Columbus as an assistant coach with the men’s tennis program. Callahan played for the Buckeyes from 2011-15 and was a volunteer assistant from 2020-22. He spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Miami.

“It’s exciting to have Hunter return to Ohio State,” director of tennis Ty Tucker said. “He did a great job at Miami and will bring experience and knowledge to the practice court and lineup. Hunter has hit the ground running and is already doing a fantastic job on the court and on the recruiting trail.”

In his two seasons at Miami, Callahan helped the Hurricanes to a record of 26-24 and helped guide Dan Martin to first team All-ACC honors as well as a spot in the NCAA Singles Championship.

“I’m thrilled to be back at Ohio State and I’m really looking forward to this opportunity,” Callahan said. “This program obviously means so much to me. Ty and Justin (Kronauge) have done a tremendous job in building a program that is at the top of collegiate tennis year after year, and I’m excited to help continue that success.”

Just sayin': I wonder if there is any excitement on the men's tennis team knowing that the NCAA NIL case will result in the men's tennis team being allowed 10 scholarships (an increase from 4.5), i.e. no more players on "partial" scholarships:

The settlement also eliminates scholarship limits for all sports while establishing new roster limits.
