Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

It created some anxiety levels and posed a challenge for the Buckeyes to get the number one seed in the NCAA championships. This reputable Site predicted OSU as a 3 seed for the championships which begin in 2 weeks. The computer model had Florida and Texas bumping the Bucks with recent conference wins.
Bucks received some help today in the Big 12 finals when Baylor upset ITA #2 Texas.
The sec semifinal also provided some good news yesterday when Tennessee upset sec top seed and ITA #3 Florida.
If Bucks can get deep or win the B1G tourney next week they can get the 1 seed. The top 8 seeds earn the right to host potentially the first 3 rounds.
If Bucks can get the #1 seed they also avoid a bracket showdown with Wake Forest and Texas until the final round.

Now Texas had 2 unfinished matches that could have gone either way; however, the big factors in both the Texas (lost 1-4) and Florida (lost 3-4) matches were that they both lost the doubles point. Also, Florida actually lost in Gainsville.

Just sayin': When you play the "big boys" you really need to win the doubles match.

Big Ten athlete of the week is awarded to tennis players who had a good week,
It is beginning to look much like the Big Ten Coach of the year award aka Kirk Ferentz award for football, only with a bias for Penn State.
Penn State has had a good year for Penn State however the love for this program is a bit overwhelming,
Since the beginning of Big Ten play on March 1st, OSU has gone 11-0, and not been awarded any athlete of the week awards;
PSU has gone 8-3 in conference play and has won the Athlete of the week award 5 times;

March 12 Constant De La Bassetiere, PSU
March 19 Constant De La Bassetiere, PSU
March 26 Aleks Kovacevic, ILL
Toby Boyer, NEB
April 2 Constant De La Bassetiere, PSU

They should just rename it the "Constant De La Bassetiere Athlete of the Week Award"...
