torp looks like the real deal, he took down 3 tough players including the freshman brother of his final round opponent.
Jared hitzlik this morning for the title and auto invite to the all American tournament at flushing meadows will be a significant challenge.
Extremely pleased to see Metka and Steinbach playing strong. Metka has an intimidating, attack game that translates into successful doubles.
Both finals start at 9 am, but gracelhink is reluctant to compromise for all the questionable java and security settings required to get the live updates from mgoblue site.
Maybe someone will take a risk and keep the bp fan base on track.

Torpegaard is the first Buckeye freshman to win an ITA Midwest Regional Singles title.

Freshman Mikael Torpegaard is your ITA Midwest Regional Champion!! Wins the third set 6-4

Steinbach and Metka battle back to force a third set, winning 6-4 in the second.
Super tie-breaker will decide the doubles championship.
Steinbach and Metka fall in a back and forth tie-breaker 12-10.

A trio of Buckeyes have been accepted into the main draw of the prestigious indoor intercollegiate tournament at Flushing Meadows NY, next weekend.
OSU freshman Michael Torpegaard received an automatic invitation as the winner of the regional.
Also buckeyes Kevin Metka and Ralf Steinbach were selected at large for doubles.

The OSU official site lists the team scheduled for the Big Ten indoor tournament Oct. 31- nov. 2, in minneapolis.
In past years the fall B1G tourney has been optional for Buckeye and other teams with elite players, many of them choosing not to participate.
Should be interesting to see if that continues.

Ohio State Student-Athletes Post Graduation Success Rate of 89 Percent
12 teams post GSR of 100 percent

Ohio State has a graduation success rate of 89 percent in numbers released by the NCAA today.
Of those, 12 teams have a 100 percent GSR: men's fencing, men's golf, men's gymnastics, rifle, men's tennis, men's volleyball, rowing, women's fencing, field hockey, softball, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Entire article: http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/genrel/102814aae.html

Just sayin': Success in the classroom is just as important (probably even more so) than success on the court.

In NCAA individual action, seeded No. 1 in doubles with Sarmiento and was a 9-16 seed in singles... Won three matches at the ITA National Team Indoors at the No. 2 singles spot... Went 24-6 overall in singles, going 18-4 in dual matches... Played primarily at the No. 1 position, going 11-3... Also went 7-1 at the No. 2 position...
