Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

The ITA kickoff is ideally to include the top 60 teams in the NCAA in competition to advance to the ITA indoor 16 team championships in Feb.
The ITA rankings of the 4 teams in the Buckeye portion of the ITA Kickoff weekend are as follows:
tOSU -- #4
Miami -- #65
Louisiana Lafayette -- #70
ETSU -- #71.

It looks like the 3 teams which were selected and placed last June in the Buckeye bracket are some of the lowest ranked teams that make up the 60 team draw.

update on scores:
#1 Rola up a break at 5-3.
#2 Kobelt up an early break at 3-2.
#3 Mc Carthy on serve at 2-2.

Link to results of all the ITA Kick-Off Weekend action:

http://www.itatennis.com/Events/Kick-OffWeekend/2013_ITA_Kick-Off_Weekend_Results.htm

The 15 schools that win both of their matches at these events will be invited to play in the Feb. 15-18 ITA National Team Indoor Championship hosted by the University of Washington.

I could be wrong here, but it appears that after the host schools are selected the remaining schools pick their bracket in order of ranking. It looks like the three other schools playing at Ohio State had last pick i.e. nobody wanted to play the Buckeyes here.:slappy:

44. University of Miami (FL)
45. UC Santa Barbara- DECLINED
46. University of Louisiana, Lafayette
47. East Tennessee State

Buckeyes capture the doubles point
Rola and Smith with an 8-4 win at 2nd dubs.
BTW Script good find on the drawing with OSU opponents.
Wonder if the 153 home match win streak factored into the choices made by others.

:oh:
