If 2007 was the year of coming in second for tOSU, then you can always hope that 2008 shows a reversal of fortune.
It was a hard fought game, and the Buckeyes had a real chance to win it. The game was in our neck of the woods, and it would have been nice to attend a national championship. Especially one featuring one of my alma maters. I would have tried to talk my wife, a fellow tOSU alumnus, into attending, but she was receiving her Masters from UNC today.
Keep those national championships appearances coming, and maybe tOSU can finally wrest the Director's Cup from Stanford.

I'm sorely disappointed with that game. It seems after our goal in the 13th minute, we decided to sit on our heels and let them come to us. Everyone knew this game would be WF Offense v. OSU Defense, and the defense was stellar for most of the game, but you can't give a team that many chances. If WF didn't decide to dance with the ball half the time they were in our box, it had the possibility of being a blowout.

We can only wonder what would have happened had WF not injured our starting left back in the opening minutes because both of their goals came from plays started on their right flank and one of them was completely attributable to the sloppy ball-handling of our substitute.

Ohio State thought that [a 1-0 lead] would be enough.“I mean, there was no reason to attack,” Espinoza said. “We were already winning. We thought we already had the game won — well, not won. We knew we didn’t need the second goal. We were just going to play and whatever happened, we were going to go with that. We just made a couple of mistakes.”
