So, when all was said and done, Fredo's "national search" ended up being a first day offer to BG's coach. I hardly think hiring an alum from a school in a decidedly lesser conference for twice his current salary screams TOP TEN JOB!
Bergeron is good though, so let's see if he can bring them back. That conference, however, is brutal, and there's a very good chance that they continue to be its twinkie for the foreseeable future. I know we can compete in the B1G with Rohlik (though next year will certainly be a bit of a rebuild) for conference championships and ncaa berths. Jury is still out on whether Fredo can do that in the NCHC.
Sorry for BG's loss too. Hope their next guy can build on the momentum he's inheriting.
