Ohio State Men's Ice Hockey (2019 B1G Champions)

Got swept last week by a resurgent Cheese program by a combined 1-9 to take our B1G record to 0-7-1. It doesn't get any easier this weekend as we play Minny. Both games are on regular BTN for those that don't do BTN+.

Minny and tcun will always be Minny and tcun. But with Cheese and Sparty back to tournament level teams and ND and PSU solid, Rohlik had better figure things out. A miserable one year rebuilding year every 4 years is understandable for our program, but we'd better be competitive next year. We have an incoming President who played D1 hockey and is a huge college hockey fan, and we also have Gene Smith departing. We can finally get a decent hockey arena, but it won't happen if the program is to the B1G what Fredo is to the NCHC.

Big step forward. We lost 5-3, but outshot Minny by a dozen and stopped the gophers from opening the floodgates on a 5 minute penalty. Had Minny's goaltender not played a hell of a game, we probably come out on top. It's a decent first step out of the depths the team had sunk to to start the season.

One gripe is why the fuck does the BTN assign the Minnesota home announcing team to a game at the Schott. For fuck's sake, Minny home games aren't even broadcast on BTN, so why are we bending over backwards for them?

Sparty and Bucky lead the B1G with 24 points each.

The Bucks are dead last with one fucking point. They're 10 points behind the closest teams, TCUN and Ped State. Yikes! :eek:

This team stinks on ice. We're not Minnesota or North Dakota. We can't reload with a bunch of 1st round draft picks, so I'll certainly grant Rohlik a rebuilding year ever 4th year or so. That being said, he'd better bounce back strong next year. And get them a proper arena, President Carter.
