September 6, 2014 we lost by TWO touchdowns to Virginia Tech in Columbus. That loss was a complete embarrassment and even though VT was 2-0 at that point, that VT team didn't belong on the field with us and that team was garbage, garbage, garbage, garbage. And that VT loss, if you recall was the gift that kept on giving as VT went 7-6 that year. All the know-it-all talking heads on all the sports talk shows just absolutely knew we were going to get embarrassed by Alabama on national t.v. because we didn't belong on the same field with the likes of Alabama, etc. but we all know how that turned out.
November 7, 1998 we lost (again at home) to a [Mark May]ty MSU team that was 4-4 and ended up 6-6 and they were garbage. I have never been so bitterly disappointed in a loss in all my life, we had no business losing that game, that day with that team. That particular OSU team, honestly, was my favorite OSU team (up to that year) to watch and I still think was one of the very best OSU teams to ever take the field. That team was, Jesus, that team was amazing and so God almighty talented, honestly they were spectacular.
I'm not saying any of this to single you out. I've been watching the Buckeyes since Woody Hayes coached (I know I'm an old phuck, who cares?) but no my point is simply that if you lose a game early, there's still hope and if you have Urban Frank Meyer as your head coach you have even more hope. Not to be Suzy Sunshine blowing sun rays up everyone's ass but I do have faith in Urban, if anyone can right this ship, that man can.
