Game Thread Ohio State at Oklahoma, 09/17/16 @ 9:00pm ET, FOX

I watched your Fiesta Bowl win over Notre Dame. Any team can beat the Irish in a bowl these days. C'mon man.

I also watched part of your loss [AT HOME] to the same Michigan State team that Alabama beat 38-0.
You won't find a soul here that talks up Notre Dame. They're always overrated and have not competed with osu in ages, on or off the field.

If you watched that game, why did you wonder if they ran the air raid? Because "spread"?

Did you watch the playoffs in 2014?

For the record, Oklahoma is 2-9 all-time versus Notre Dame, including a 30-13 loss at home in 2012.

For the historians out there, Notre Dame was the team that snapped Oklahoma's historic 47-game winning streak (1953-1957). Of course, Ohio State win the national title in 1957 in part because the mighty Sooners got shut out by a mediocre Notre Dame team.

Yes, that is correct. Notre Dame was once great, just like the Dallas Cowboys were. I was so freaking happy that OU fans can watch Sterling Shepard go 54 yards to pay dirt every time the Notre Dame football team comes to mind. We're 2-9 against Notre Dame, but we got the last laugh with our 2013 win.

Where did I wonder if OSU ran the air raid? I was kind of asking that question earlier, figuratively, because you belittled the Big XII for playing great offense, but not defense if I am not mistaking.

2014?? Dude, that was two seasons ago. OU had their worst team ever fielded by Bob Stoops, Ohio State had their best team fielded by Urban Meyer. I'd be living in the past too if I were a Buckeye fan, knowing how concerning your game against OU will look.

For the record, OU had the #1 defense in the Big XII in 2015. Even though it may not look stellar on paper, it's still pretty darn good when you take in account that Mike Stoops is the best defensive coordinator in the Big XII.

So they had the best defense in a conference that doesn't play defense...

Also, which offense in the Big Ten gives Ohio State the most fits???

The answer: Indiana

OU runs the same offensive schemes that they do. Granted, Kevin Wilson was the architect behind that great 2008 offense with Bradford, Murray, Gresham and the best offensive line of college football during the decade of the 2000s.

Yes, but this is OU we're talking about here. Not Texas Tech, Kansas State, or Iowa State.

TCU and OU run the best defenses in the conference. Only difference is Mike Stoops has a national championship win on his resume.
When you talk about being the best amongst a group, then the group comes into play, whether you like it or not. To find the best Big 12 defense amongst the national rankings, you have to go all the way down the #39 to find Oklahoma. The next best Big 12 defense isn't TCU, but WVU at #61, then Baylor at #62...TCU is next at #63. Fifth is Oklahoma State at #99. You have one team in the top 60 nationally in defense (and it barely cracks the top 40), and barely five in the top 100. Oh yeah, the two absolute worst defenses in the country are TTU and Kansas at #126 and #127. So you can basically just STFU about defense.

And Meyer has three national titles since Stoop's one and only national title.

He's talking about Mike Stoops......who I'm guessing has a NC as an assistant. I wish our assistants had NCs on their resume.
