Game Thread Ohio State at Oklahoma, 09/17/16 @ 9:00pm ET, FOX

Ahh, but does OSU run the hurry-up "Air Raid" offense like Clemson or the Manziel-led Aggies??? Mike Stoops is no stranger to facing these high-powered spread offenses.
No, OSU doesn't run anything like either of those. Have you really not watched any OSU football? Not even Alabama-OSU?

It's pretty relevant now, given that you'll be facing the brilliant Tom Herman that called plays for that terrific playoff run by OSU. OSU ran the same stuff in 2015, just without the same great execution by the players and coordinator (despite having arguably more talent).

This team will be young but should have that fire and hunger that defined the 2014 team.
When Urban Meyer was at Florida, we held his offense far below their season average. Only problem was DeMarco Murray being out and it made our offense one-dimensional.
And lost. And no, Urban does not run the same offense here.

If you keep it to talking football, and backing up your arguments, you'll be a welcome visitor. If you just came here to talk smack you'll be shown the door. Bucknuts is the forum for that drivel. I'm hoping you become the former.
FIFY. I hope so too, but it's not looking great so far.

I left out our steady stream of quality Alabama fans. Now they were a pretty confident bunch but frankly they had every reason to be, and many of them were capable of some in depth analysis.

Counting your chickens before they hatch??? Sounds pretty much like Texas fans when they "backed up" Garrett Gilbert after their NC loss to Alabama. Oh Good Lord!

Now on a serious note, I do expect your Buckeyes to come out very fiesty through the first three quarters of this game. But Mayfield and Perine will be too much to handle when our offensive line wears your young defense down in the fourth quarter. I think OU wins by 10.

Yes, me saying that this should be a hungry team is the same thing as Texas fans backing a terrible QB that they still blame for many of their ills.

I can certainly see that deficit, and I'm not sure how disciplined the younger LBs and safeties will be, but I doubt fatigue from a big physical OL will be a major factor.

No, but you're including a boatload of players on your team who are either freshman or have not started an actual game yet.

My only guess is that if your Buckeyes do win, then there must have been a pretty significant injury that Mayfield suffered and/or your coaches really studied the Houston tape well. Other than that, OU has only lost 8 games at home since '99. OU fans don't really have too much of a concern for this game because of how dominant they've been at home under BGBS.

Yeah guys like those are rarely hungry.

Yes the only way to beat you is for your qb to get hurt or if osu figures out Houston's approach. If only they had been running that scheme since urban arrived! Oh wait.

It's pretty obvious you never watch osu football. Do you just not get outside of your southern circle? Cfb is a pretty great sport because you get to enjoy so many conferences, styles and matchups. You really should try watching other teams some time.

You only beat friggin' Northern Illinois by a touchdown last year, with all that experience and talent you had. You lost to a mighty VA Tech squad early on in your 2014 NC season. By the time you face Michigan, I think your team will be at that elite level again. Not so much in September when you play in at the most feared venue in the Big XII, against their most historic football power.

We're your third team you play this year. Last year NIU was the third team you played. You nearly lost that one, so hmmm..... :ohbrother:

Last time OU lost an OOC matchup in September, you've got to go back to 2009 when Sam Bradford got injured against BYU at Cowboys Stadium. Last one they lost at home in Sept. was 2005 (11 years ago!) when TCU beat us in our season opener.

Ask Alabama or Oregon just how good our conditioning on both lines is...I can guarantee you it won't be either OSU line that wears out.

Meyer decided to play around with QBs for the first 2/3 of the season, which was a big factor in a lackluster performance over a clearly outmanned NIU squad. As for the Va Tech debacle, we had the country's second-most inexperienced OL, protecting a QB who was in only his second game since the middle of his senior year in high school. That's hardly going to be the case when the Bucks roll into (and over) Norman.

 Texas and Nebraska (despite their now being in the B1G) would strongly disagree...

Are you really that obtuse?

Which has absolutely jack shit to do with our game. Urban Meyer was 30-0 in B1G regular season play going into our game against MSU last year, and that didn't prevent MSU from winning on a last-second kick.

Please tell me 1974 isn't when you were born. Or, Christ, when you graduated. God I hope not. How embarrassing that would be for you.

Here I'll help you out. 1974 was OU's 4th national championship year and Barry Switzer's best team. I probably know Ohio State's own history and tradition better than you do.

Now if you'll excuse me, I must go find a tattoo parlor...
