The week that was
Two trends were turned on their heads: the Buckeyes' inability to beat Florida in a major sport and their rare successes when venturing elsewhere in Ohio to play state schools. They took care of the second one first on Tuesday in Cleveland, defeating Cleveland State for only their third win in their past 10 games against Ohio teams in their home towns. The week ahead
Some of the Buckeyes are enjoying Christmas today more than they did last year, when a 26-point loss to Florida was still fresh on their minds. They get back to work Wednesday for their final nonconference tuneup before the Big Ten season begins next week. Maryland-Baltimore County has a respectable rating percentage index (RPI), ranking around 70, but in its only game against a top-100 opponent lost by 24 points at West Virginia. Since many fans around here will say, "Maryland who?" Ohio State is pitching another reason to buy a ticket: Coach Jim Tressel and the football team will be recognized at halftime.
