Ohio State 92, Memphis 76 (Final)

expect to see a lot of 2-3. as long as memphis doesn't get hot from the outside, i expect for it to be the primary defense.

Thats what I was thinking also. I don't see Memphis out shooting us as Tennesse or Xavier tried to do, and almost succeed at. I see Memphis trying to beat us with athleticism. I think they'll be crashing the boards extra hard and penetrating the entire game. I think in the end it comes down to Lewis, Harris and Butler. If we shoot 40% or better from 3, we win by @ 10 points. If they go cold and we have to penetrate and defend penetration the whole game, it'll come down to free throws. We havent been good from the charity stripe but Memphis is awful from the line. We play smart fundamental basketball and we will win this game. If we get into some playground bullcrap and they'll run us.

The kindest interpretation is that Dorsey is hoping he can provoke Oden to make some silly rough play mistakes. Probably he will continue talking during the game.

It's actually very funny. Dorsey thinks he is going to have a very special night--he's right. It will be his first chance to play against a furture NBA legend. It will be something he can remember all his life. :slappy:

I don't think Oden is going to respond by thinking he has to get twenty points and twenty rebounds. It sure would be funny though, if he had a record night for blocked shots on Dorsey!

Slighted Memphis singing blues
Tigers feel like they don't get any respect

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

SAN ANTONIO -- Listen to Memphis coach John Calipari long enough and he will have you convinced that his basketball team is the shack down the street from Graceland.

The Tigers are hidden by more well-known mansions rising from the ranks of college programs. Places such as Ohio State.
"We're not in a BCS league. We're not one of those schools that are supposed to do this," Calipari said, attempting to explain why the Tigers get overlooked by the press and public despite having the longest winning streak in the nation (25 games) and having advanced to their second consecutive NCAA regional final. "We may be the first Cinderella two-seed in the history of the tournament."

SAN ANTONIO -- It must be an interesting time to be Greg Oden.

Here he is in the Elite Eight of his first and maybe only NCAA Tournament and, apparently, he is no longer the man. After two below-average games, the once-and-future superstar is just a big guy who commits fouls, keeps his team from being explosive and gets a lot of pub he doesn't deserve.
Well, that's almost the way it seemed in at least some corners of the Alamodome yesterday. Media types who hadn't seen the 7-foot Ohio State freshman before the postseason were wondering whether the Buckeyes aren't better without him than they
are with him.

And Memphis forward Joey Dorsey, who will be matched
up against Oden today in the South Regional final, went so far as to call him "a lot overrated."

The only thing worse than Memphis playing the "no respect card" was Jokim Noah saying Florida was being disrespected. You're a two seed, Memphis.... a two. Where's the disrespect? Hell, I was listening to the radio the other day (1460) and the question was, which mid major has the best shot .... and they DIDN'T include Memphis... when asked "Why not memphis" the answer was:
Well, they're from a mid major conference, but that team isn't a "mid major"

Wha wha wha, Memphis. Ask Kirk Ferentz how far the US against the WORLD stuff gets you.
