Ohio State 85, Tennessee 84 (final)

I have to admit that I almost turned the game off at halftime but decided to wait to see how the second half began in sure glad I did. I haven't watched the replay yet but I think where we, especially Conley, started to take the ball to the basket the momentum started to swing our way.

I feel sorry for Oden because those officials were terrible. You can tell that after the game he was not very happy and I think the reason for that is because he realized that he did not contribute as much to the win as he would have liked.

My hat's off to Hunter,Twig, and Lightly. I don't know what is wrong with Cook. I have read where he has bad fingers and so his offensive game is not where it should be. The thing I don't understand is his defensive lapses. When he was in the game, it really didn't look like he had his head in it.

I know that I have probably repeated some things that have been posted earlier but my peepers are very tired. I guess the big question now is how much gas does Lewis, Conley, and Butler have left in the tank for Saturday. Oh, kudos to Butler. I know that his shot wasn't falling but he chased Lofton all over the court and gave all the had on defense.

With that, Go Bucks!

Tennessee was as good as any team in the nation during the first ten minutes of that game. Luckily the team didnt panic and throw in the towel like a majority of the fans in the game thread.
Agreed 100%. There are some really embarrassing posts in this thread. Please clean it up for the remainder of the tournament.

Great win, exciting game, but its not over.

If they want to get any further, they can never play like they did in the first half again. They may be able to get by Xavier and Tennessee at the end, but against a better team they may not be as fortunate. They need to really mature, and to learn to play with passion the entire game, not just when they are down big with time running short. It's great that they are able to come back like that, but if they can put a full game together with focus and execution, they have a chance to beat anybody.

Play smart!

Basketball team is doing it's version of the 07 Fiesta Bowl. Is this the basketball version of "Tresselball"?

You mean winning? Looks like it. And, I should add, at 33- 3 they're winning at a .916 clip.

Think the voters are going to be apprehensive to vote tOSU #1 in the revenue sports for a while after this year?

Doubt it... But, hell, maybe one half of a single basketball game is all the criteria they need to make this vote.... You're thoughts? What's that? You may have over reacted?

Great....now I'll have to hear it the next few days here in Knoxville. :(
I can handle a lose....just not a blowout.

So, what are you hearing down there in Knoxville? If you were here in CBus with me, you'd be hearing about how you should keep the faith. A lot.

OK, I've seen it about 6 times now and FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME, WE DID NOT PLAY IN THE FIESTA BOWL IN JANUARY!!!! That being said, at least I didn't spend a couple grand and fly across the damn country to watch this shitty display.

Bet ya kinda wish you had now, though.

At halftime I was tempted to turn off the TV, but I wanted so badly to see the bball bucks do what the football bucks couldn't...fight their way back into the game. I honestly didn't expect them to win, but I wanted to see them get back in there and play their guts out. Unbelievable what they can do when the go to the attack mode. When Lewis and Conley start penetrating into the lane good things happen. I can't say enough about Lewis. This guy was the one guy out there who was noticably pissed a few times. He takes it personally. Granted he's a senior and doesn't want this to end yet, but I loved the fire I saw out of him.

Also, I'm curious about how this game will affect Oden. All the guys were happy and jumping up and down after the game except him. He seemed like he was just pissed. I hope he uses that feeling to dominate Memphis.

Go Bucks! Unbelievable game!

BKB, I think you're playing a little bit of a monday morning QB here. No doubt several posters (myself included, no doubt) made some comments that we regret having said now. But if you are honest with yourself, I'd imagine that you (as well as the rest of Buckeye Nation) also had a few choice words about the Buckeyes when we were down 20 last night.

I'd like to think that those of us who posted critical comments last night have the ability to assess what we said and to realize that we should think twice before doing so in the future. Accordingly, I feel that your (and several other posters') critiques of others are nothing more than paternalistic, holier-than-thou posts that do nothing useful and otherwise take away from this great time that we Buckeye fans are now experiencing.

You missed my apology apparently. I admit i lost faith after the 1st 20 mins of that game. It's not easy to watch a first half like that. It didn't look good but like I said in my previous post.....props to the team for coming out with more emotion in the second half, playing their asses off, and proving me wrong. I'm not the first to get disappointed when things aren't going good. Won't be the last either. Does that make less of a fan????? =P
