Othello Hunter goes for the dunk.
Jamar Butler scored 23 of his 25 points after halftime tonight, and the Ohio State men's basketball team rallied from a four-point deficit in the final three minutes of regulation to beat Purdue 80-77 in overtime in Value City Arena. The victory ended a four-game losing streak for the Buckeyes and kept alive their fragile hopes for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament in two weeks. They had lost six of their previous eight games.
Ohio State (18-12, 9-8 Big Ten) regained sole possession of fifth place in the conference at least temporarily over Minnesota, which plays Wednesday at Indiana. The Buckeyes and Gophers are competing for the No. 5 seed in the conference tournament, which is worth a first-round bye.
E'Twaun Moore led Purdue with 16 points.
