They aren't as good as Syracuse!

As a Syracuse alum who has followed SU basketball for 23 years, I can honestly say this is the most talented SU team I have ever seen (even more so than the 2003 championship team). The team literally doesn't have an area of weakness in terms of talented players on the court.
I see a lot of misinformed posts on here. One poster called Donte Greene "undersized." He is 6-11. Basically, he is a 6-11 forward than can shoot from the perimeter and drive to the hoop like a small forward. He is also a very good shot blocker. His defense needs to improve, though.
I read where someone else said they are streaky shooters. SU has averaged appx. 55% shooting and appx. 43% from three-point range this year.
Someone else said Jonny Flynn had a great game against Siena and then struggled against St. Joe's and Fordham. Nothing could be further from the truth. That post obviously came from someone reading game stats, not someone who actually watched the game. Flynn took over those games with outstanding defense and some of the most amazing passes/assists I have seen in college basketball. He only took four shots against St. Joe's (including the game winner). You don't need to put the ball up as a PG when you get everyone else as involved as he does.
All in all, SU is a young team that is maturing very fast. They had a lot of turnovers in their first game and, by game three, that turnover margin was cut in half. Their defense is coming together and they looked extremely active in the 2-3 against Fordham. The more the team plays together and the more the defense improves, the more comfortable I feel calling this team a top-5 caliber team. All five starters average in double figures for scoring, and 6-9 Rick Jackson, 6-1 Scoop Jardine and 6-9 Kris Ongenaet are providing productive minutes off the bench (Rick Jackson had 9 points and 7 boards in 10 minutes last game).
Just some perspective from an SU fan. :)
Good luck OSU!

Is he going to dominate our guys with his bulk, which we would be forced to play DL?
wadc45;1001257; said:Onuaku certainly is a big boy...and I certainly don't how we will play things when we are in man to man situations...I don't know if Hunter will D up Greene or if we will try and stick Lighty on him and give up a ton of size. I imagine in our zone scheme they will try and push Green out and use Koufos height to take away Onuaku inside. He is strictly a halfcourt guy at this point and his point are going to be of the lunch pail variety typically...but he is supposedly a very smart post player so it will be interesting to see how we contain him without letting Green kill us.
