We got outhustled and made mistakes. Fix those and it's a 20+ point win.

I hate to sound like a downer, but we've been outhustled almost every game this year. Our guys do not look like they are in great shape. They have looked tired every second half of every big game this year.

The turnovers and their ability to hit the three made it closer than it should have been......we take care of the ball we win by 10-15 easily.

Another game.....another learning experience.

:oh: :io:

Big ups on the learning experience! Again, only one ball, and alot of players to spread it around...

Yes, Thad it was a nail biter at the end. This is probably what causes coaches to lose their hair.

Nice photo of Thad and Greg on the ESPN website:

Our guys are not out of shape, they simply do not know how to close out opponents yet. We were up on Tenn. by 10 for what seemed like an eternity and failed to make any shots to build on that lead.

I was glad that they finally focused on making Oden aggressive on offense. There were finally people cutting to the basket when he got the ball in the post! That only took 10+ games to figure out!

I hope there is a game soon where everyone will be clicking at the same time, it's always one or two that stand out every game.

Also, this game was just a big morale boost for the entire school. I could feel it with my fellow students, another loss would have been devasting.

The game should not have been close at all, IMO. But, Tennessee is a good team, so I'll take the win any day of the week.

my first game that I attended and my points of the view of the game.
PG's cant dribble or pass with any pressure on them and really sad against top talent

full court pressure made them look sad and Matta didn't do any coaching changes until after halftime.BAD COACHING.
Then the good, Using Oden to catch the ball on the court to beat the pressure. Nice answer to cause less turnovers.

3point happy shooting is really starting to piss me off. Matta has to teach them more to play as a team and to not try a high risk scoring chance at first.

Pg's please study how to pass the ball inside to ODEN ,,or whoever down low.

They have to penatrate/drive more to the rim.

I could go on about rebounding, hunter and team defense but, I'm just happy they won when, they should have lost by a lot.

Once again guys my theme is going to be:
Young Young Young

The thing is we are learning from previous games. We had a stretch where we had the game in hand when we went up 10 and could of ran away with it, but we couldnt score. Then we let UT back in the game with turnovers. We take care of the ball and we win by 10-15 easily.

Overall we played a very good game, Oden stepped up and played like we all know he can. If he can continue to play like that we will be tough to beat. I am can't wait for him to get his cast off and get full motion of his right hand. Then he will be able to make some of those little hooks that he missed.

The biggest stretch of the game was the last minute in the first half IMO. When Cook hit the left hand layup off the Hunter block and then Conley's 2 3's. If they are going to leave him open he has to take those shots as his form looks damn good, and if he has all day to stare it down well then hit that damn shot.

As for Butler and Lewis they seem to be coming and going. Lewis was non existant until the end, when he came up with the big shot. Butler was non-existant all day. Matta put harris on the bench for taking stupid shots. They HAVE to lead this team...No questions asked, hopefully today was a step in the right direction. Hoopsfan eluded to it the other day of the upperclassmen being jealous and I heard some not so good things today, I just hope they can get the shit together and make this team a very good team.

I thought Lighty gave good minutes today and seemed to put the Wisky game behind him.

Overall the crowd was great and it was a win that the buckeye nation really needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.

Like I said earlier, the Buckeye Nation needed this one. I was at a bar in Manhattan and there was a table or two of other buckeye fans and if you didn't know any better you'd have thought we'd just won a sweet sixteen game. How's campus been this week? I'm guessing not so fun.

Honestly DARK is the best way to describe it...

No one wants to talk about it and the day after there was no one that had Ohio state stuff, it seemed everyone was wearing black like someone had died...

I am just wondering what we did to deserve this bad karma for a couple weeks... :(

This will sound way too weird to be true, but it is. I sent a text to my friends on wednesday morning and asked if I was the only one who had a feeling like someone had died (meaning our national championship hopes). They all texted back that they felt the same. Five minutes later I got a call that a close friend from my fraternity passed away that morning. Kinda puts it in perspective. That has nothing to do with the game today, but it put my doom and gloom attitude in check.
