We seem to be saying this quite a bit. Not only this year but last. We probably even said it a few times the season before that. Just very frustrating.:(
Of course it's very frustrating but we all knew what we were in for when we lose our best players every year. We know whats coming so why continue to moan and whine about it.

We need continuity.

Go Bucks

Maybe it's because i have some kinda wierd mancrush on John Diebler.....but does anyone think it is unnacceptable for him to only take 6 shots in a game?
Your mean Jon:) Diebler. It is probably not unacceptable but do I think he should have shot the ball more than 6 times yesterday the answer would be a resounding yes. He is a streak shooter, at times, and yesterday and I think he was in one of those streaks but never shot the ball enough for us to really know.

JO is the man...IF anyone wants to see what is wrong with the team read his post...

As for the Jon Diebler thing and shooting more, it has to come with him getting open, taking good looks, and finding ways to get him the ball in position to succeed...The one time he was open it was due to the defender falling down...

But JO hit the nail on the head when he talked about the time when the ball went into Mullens, Diebler repositioned himself, Mullens thru back out and bang wide open 3...It was there all game...I was calling for it all game and it took the last 5 minutes of the game to realize it...The cross court is always there as well, and Mullens is too weak to get thru the double team and throw it...He has turned the ball over multiple times trying this year...He needs to get that ball above his head and whip it over ther.e..

I'm with you guys...I keep thinking during the games that Diebler needs to shoot more and like 40 said, only put him in positions he can succeed in. Our offense as a whole seems to always flourish when Diebler is on. We don't have anyone outside of Turner who can get penetration and create good ball movement on a consistent basis (even Turner is fumbling the ball non-stop when he tries anymore), so we really need Jon to hit the 3. I realize that is problematic to getting Diebler open, but we have to find ways.

Also, I was beyond frustrated with rebounding...MState just wanted it more. We planted our feet in the pine and watched their players attack the ball. Nobody boxed out consistently. This should never happen when Lauderdale and Mullens are both in. I liked Mullens effort today but there was one particular moment where I was pretty mad at Lauderdale. He just seemed complacent and uninterested in getting a rebound, or hustling on defense. I don't want to cross the line but suffice it to say I was very disappointed in his effort. Kudos to Matta's effort though, he is in the game 100% all the time. He continued to coach and be aggressive when we knew we were going to lose. I know this team can make a run in the tourney and even beat the MState's of the world, but they are really going to have to get tougher mentally. Teams like MState are going to rally back and they need to learn how to respond.

do you ever key in on diebler during a game and watch him away from the ball? i too am a big diebler fan and i've tried to figure out what is going on lately. i dvr'd the MSU game and rewatched it the other night. i'm going to be as straightforward as possible without 'bashing'. on offense, he stands around and rarely works to the ball which IMO really limits his opportunities to shoot. when he does get the ball, he rarely tries to create anything off the dribble. if he's open, he takes it, if he isn't he passes. he also seems to have a habit of finding one spot where he feels good and tries to continually get the ball at that same spot. on defense, he seems to get lost (for lack of a better word) sometimes. when a team has good ball movement around the perimeter they can usually catch him out of position. he has a habit of getting sucked too far to one side of the floor leaving his man open behind him. the better teams can whip it around the perimeter and exploit that. one play that really got me fired up was when he missed that rebound underneath (lundquist said he whiffed), and it bounced out to MSU. instead of rushing back to his spot in the zone, he stood under the basket for 6 seconds (i counted) right next to lauderdale allowing MSU to find the guy open for three. diebler didn't try to get back into position until his guy got the ball. by that point, the ball was in the air and the 3 was good. the defensive mistakes seem to be a lack of discipline. the offensive short comings seem to be a lack of coaching, IMHO. why else do they continue to allow him to make the same mistakes over and over? we all know the kid has mad skills. i'm just frustrated that he doesn't seem to have progressed much this season.
