Ohio State's Anthony Crater goes in for a loose ball against Samford's Matthew Friday in the first half.
The game against Samford was a laugher by halftime everywhere but in the Ohio State locker room, where coach Thad Matta wasn't taking his team's 30-6 lead lightly.
"He told us it was 0-0," guard Evan Turner said, "and if he sees someone with a smile, he'd pretty much, um, you know how that goes from there.
"This was all about building maturity and building toughness. That's what he's been testing us on every single day because the toughest team's going to win close games."

Samford barely made more shots (nine) than OSU blocked (seven). The Bulldogs' 22 points were the fewest they have scored since a 35-21 loss to Auburn in 1941 and the fewest allowed by Ohio State since a 34-22 win over Wabash in 1939.
