Game Thread Ohio State 45, Northwestern 10 (Nov. 8)

1. Our offense needs confidence after being shut down against PSU so I am glad JT didn't let up.
2. We had back up players in there doing the scoring at the end. Taking a kneel down doesn't give back up players any experience they need.
3. The BCS rewards blowouts.
4. If Florida can do it then so can we. (although I promise you that tOSU will take much more criticism for it.)
5. If Northwestern didn't want us to score they should have stopped us.

For all the reasons listed above, you Andre Ware, are the douchebag of the week.

Agreed, for the most part. But I do think having Boeckman throw deep and then faking a punt with that kind of lead is a little excessive. From a courtesy standpoint I think they should have shut it down on TP's last drive rather than punching in another score but from a developmental POV I don't fault the decision to let him loose at all..he needs to mature and getting him comfortable in any situation is what the program needs. JT knows that and I'm sure that's the reason for keeping the playbook open well into the 4th quarter.

I don't have a problem with just running the clock out on the last drive by running the ball but I generally prefer a kneel-down just because it's the classy move. I think JT had a judgment lapse there but it's pretty much NW's fault for not stopping the run and getting scored on anyways.

Mark May is a cocksucker.

If two conference teams are playing I say it's up to the defense to stop them. Whining about running up the score is the ultimate loser mentality. Hence you have a former Lions QB complaining about running up the score.

AJ Trapasso has got to be loving life man...your know he wants to run the fake every time he comes on the field! But he really did show some nice vision there. Way to go AJ!

I'm so happy for our offense. They got better and better as the game went along and kudos to JT for letting Pryor do more than hand off with the lead. Very nice to see the O get into a nice groove.

With that said, we started out very flat. Hope we avoid that next week.

Very impressed with Abdallah today. He really looked fired up out there. Also very impressed with Nathan Williams. He is small looking out there, but very strong and quick...watch out for him next year.

Defense looked great after the first series.

Pryor is really starting to figure things out...awesome game for him after the PSU toughie. Nice to see him look even more confident than ever.

Go Bucks and let's keep up the intensity. Another big one next week...Juice gets juiced to play us...so we need to squeeze him early!

:oh::io:

I don't really think it was supposed to be a touchdown run, but it is what it is.

I just hate what that mother fucker Urban Meyer does every week and I resent any idea of something like it.
Puh-lease - it was a hand off - a run - NW didn't tackle - Herron scored. (And Ware is a whiny, hypocritical wuss).

Again, I don't mean to come off on the wrong card, what we did was still classy, but I would've prefered a knee. Just looking at Meyers bitch ass face I don't like anything about that. Boom deserved it though, and we played a helluva a game.

What don't feed out, feeds in. If you guys want these guys to play nasty, then once in a while you have to let them play nasty.

Anybody still think TSUN is going to beat this team this year?

Exactly on the intensity, plus - after 2004 they need a drubbing each and every meeting.

Oh - I do believe Northwestern can beat TSUN this year :wink2:

All good points. I think Tressel probably would've had them take a knee if they were playing a Div. 2 team or something. I also think the amount of criticism he has taken contributed to the playcalling. I think the thing that contributed most to it is the confidence thing. If you remember the Minn. game where we jumped out to a big lead and then completely shut the offense down. Minn. scored some late TDs and tOSU left with an empty win that gave them very little confidence.
