The Ohio State Buckeyes will open their 119th season of football on Saturday and they will be doing it against the same team they opened their 118th season of football against.
In last season?s matchup, the Buckeyes started slow, but played well enough to secure a 38-6 victory over Youngstown State. The loss snapped a streak of eleven consecutive season-opening wins for the Penguins.
Youngstown State (ranked 12th in both FCS polls) comes into this game 19-21-1 all-time against Football Bowl Subdivision teams, and they are 7-0 all-time in August games.
However, they are 10-18 all-time in season opening road games.
The Buckeyes come into this game ranked 2nd in the AP Poll and 3rd in the Coaches Poll. They are 174-48-15 all-time versus in-state opponents and have not lost to an Ohio team since 1921, when Oberlin beat the Buckeyes 7-6.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Three Griffin brothers, one of their sons and a nephew have played football on a fall Saturday in Ohio Stadium.
Saturday will be the first time, though, that one of the family plays there against Ohio State, Archie Griffin said.
"I think Tyler will be the first," the Buckeyes' two-time Heisman Trophy winner said this week. "I know he's excited."
Tyler Griffin, a Westerville North graduate and son of Archie's brother Larry, is a backup cornerback and special-teams regular for Youngstown State, which plays Ohio State on Saturday.
It has been a roundabout route home for Tyler, a fifth-year senior who signed with Eastern Michigan out of high school in 2004, transferred to Youngstown State the following year, played a lot as a sixth defensive back in 2006 but missed his first shot at the Buckeyes when the Penguins played them in Columbus last season because he was academically ineligible.
