If there is something specific you're referring to, feel free to point it out. But if this is your general impression of the tone of the board, my impression is very different.
That was in response to some of the blow-out type scores I was seeing posted in the thread. The last time I remember blowing out an opponent, it was San Jose State around the time we won the national championship. This Toledo team isn't San Jose State. And by judging from Tressel's call-in show this afternoon, he's not taking them lightly, which is a really good thing. OSU has a chance at having a nice bounce-back game if they can execute on offense better than they did last week.

I'm no MAC homer. Far from it, actually. Just a Buckeye fanatic who is a U of Toledo alum and knows how they roll. If my thoughts were out-of-line, I meant no harm and I apologise, but I thought I would share a little insight on the team we're playing this weekend and inform y'all that this is a pretty confident team that isn't going to roll-over for OSU.

Miller had to hold/fight off Shugarts to win the LT spot. He looked very good in the jersey scrimmage a few weeks back, I'm excited to see him out there. It will be interesting to see what happens when Cordle is healthy to play again. He's a multi-year starter, but you don't want to give a talent like Shugarts a window like that. Tough break for Jimmy.

Definitely do not want to lose your spot, especially as a 5th year...

A friend of mine today said, "If we don't win by 21, i'm going to be disappointed." Is it just me, or does it really matter the score of any of these games if you win? I mean, sure score may end up mattering when it comes to being BCS #1 or #2 at the end of the regular season, or it may not. Scores of our games really didn't play a role in us going to the NCG in 2002, 2006, or 2007. We would have been there no matter what the scores. Heck we barely beat some unranked teams in 2002. Does anybody care about that? Nope...we still have the championship.

We all saw what our lines did last week. If they click like that the rest of the year, it's going to be a very good year. Toledo won't score very many points...people who think they will are insane. I don't care how much we win this game by, I just want to win. It's not like beating Toledo by 50 is going to make me start thinking we are any better than we are. Nor will us beating them by 7 make me think we are any worse than we are. This Ohio State football team is good, with the ability to come together and be great. And frankly, this game means jack shit. Let's win the Big Ten. 5 in a row would be nice.

I think it is only important insofar as the Big Ten is seen to be way down. Some of the computers now rank the Big Ten as low as #7 league. This suggests that we will have a low SOS, despite playing Navy and USC to start.

So, many pollsters think that if you are playing against poor competition and you are good, then you should have no difficulty with them. To have a realistic shot at a BCS bowl, Ohio State needs to run the table or lose to no other team but Penn State in a close game. Winning some games going away will help only with buttressing Ohio State's position in the polls.

I don't see how. In my opinion Big12 reigns followed immediatly by the SEC (only due to the Big12's problems this past weekend) then the Pac10 and then the Big10. There's no way in hell the ACC is better. All the other conferences have one or two teams worth mentioning and that's it.
