And there is one more thing PSU had going for it in 2005 that few people are mentioning. PSU went 11-1 that year! They were a pretty good football team. And still only beat us at home by a TD.

TOUCHDOWN MANNINGHAM!!!!!!!!!!! You're welcome for half of the Big 10 title that year  And less bitching from PSU fans about being snubbed from the NC. Hey, did you know Michigan got two seconds on the clock that year?

I know you don't like Michigan, but come on, that's offensive even by our rivalry standards.

1. ND

2. PSU
3. Every SEC school

I actually can tolerate OSU fans. You guys seem to have a pretty even keel as to when you're going to be really good and when you're just gonna be okay.

haha, i was only kidding. I just hate the scUM homers that refuse to admit/realize that we have pwned them ever since Tressel came to Columbus. It's all good though....just makes the rivalry even better. I'll remove scUM from that group and add USC & Florida fans to it. That better? :tongue2:

Much

And yes, you have run our show since Tressel has got to Columbus. I'm not gonna deny it. It's the best rivalry in college sports though. I always get a chuckle when those SEC yokels say Auburn/Alabama is the best. Maybe in the state of Alabama, but it can't hold UM/OSU's rivalry's jock.

And the other thing is, a lot of us know when we're gonna suck, and we admit it. Unlike that catholic school...

You know, I wanna see a Buckeye player go out on the field when the crowd is at it's loudest, and wave his arms up and down and exhort their crowd to be LOUDER - Embrace the environment - feed off of the things they're trying to do to intimidate. Turn it back around on them.

Joe Paterno would not be the only one crapping his pants if somebody like Beanie Wells went out there and waved his arms before the snap, and then took the ball and broke off a big punishing run. If I were a PSU fan or player in that situation, I'd think, "They're good, they're bat-shit crazy and we're SCREWED!"
bat-shit crazy, huh?

eh.....why the hell not. it works for LSU.

According to the PSU guy on the BN radio hour this week, the Nits have lost 12 fumbles (tied for second worst in the country).

Some huge hits that add a couple to that total will help quiet that crowd.

Exactly. I don't think there is a rivalry in sports that is even close to UM/tOSU. I'd say the Red Sox & Yankees is close, but they play more often than UM/tOSU. PLUS, UM/tOSU is usually for the Big Ten title, which makes it an even stronger rivalry.

:cheers::box:

oh and by the way.... I added to your reputation haha

If EA Sports' love child Brandon Graham (who has been really good this year) pimp slapped Anthony Morelli like he did, a more experienced guy like Vernon Gholston can do the same thing. I think I'm gonna name my first kid Vernon. Guaranteed to be jacked (Davis, Gholston) etc..

By the way, if you want any tips on how to shut that fucking crowd up, I highly recommend sacking Morelli 12 times and/or having your biggest, fattest dude squash him. Ask Anthony if he remembers Mr. Branch

I absolutely loved the way Michigan shut up and shut down that white out last year. I remember a few different defenders from Big Blue crushing Morelli multiple times in the game. Didn't you knock both him and the backup out of the game? No dirty hits either; just good, clean fun from the Michigan D-line.

I really think we'll see a conservative game plan from Tress.
Put the game on the defense and special teams and force a mistake or 2 from PSU. Field position and defense. :tongue2: Boring Tressel ball.

No, you just recognize the other guys more because no one would even DREAM of throwing at MJ because they know what will happen. I truly think that Malcolm is the best player on our defense, bar none. When he is in, his side of the field just doesn't exist. And I dont mean just passing either. You cant pass to that side, you cant run to that side, hell you can't even pump fake to that side cause everyone on the D knows its a joke. I truly want to know what the longest play to that side of the field has been this year when he was playing corner.

I would have to 100% disagree with that opinion. Jenkins is the best DB we have period. He allows the other DBs to make plays.

Despite Bad Vibes, OSU Looks Forward To Trip...........more on the trip to Happy Valley and comments from Barton, Boone and Robo about the opportunity ahead.

I personally think Jenkins looks even better this year. When given opportunities (stopping the run, rare passes his way) he has looks INCREDIBLE.

Also, a question for the whole board

How do you think Beanie will play against a very good PSU defense against the run?

I think 25 carries for 130-140...I may be going over the top a little but I really believe that Beanie is going to DOMINATE down the stretch.

I can only assume you have not been able to actually watch any of the games this season.

Certainly Chimdi Chekwa, Donald Washington, Kurt Coleman, Anderson Russll, and others have had superb seasons, but they do not reach MJ's level IMO. There's a good reason the receivers he covers seldom have passes thrown their way, and reputation is not it.

I've indeed watched every game this season, and it is my personal opinion that he hasn't played as well. Does that mean he's played poorly? No. You have to remember where he was last year. Probably one of the if not the best DB in the Big Ten. And we've got to consider some pretty good defenses the Big Ten has last year (ie Michigan). Jenkins has played a bit at safety, and despite a new position for him (playing at corner all of last season), I think it's taken a toll. I specifically remember him in early games taking less-than-ideal pursuit angles and missing some big reads over the middle and in the flats (at corner). Am I saying Jenkins sucks? By no means. But re-read what I wrote as well (in play-making terms):

Jenkins happens to be our marquee, but I think there are players who are contributing more right now (namely, the younger, hungrier guys).

Please keep in mind that the studs we have back there could end up being the best group we've had in recent Buckeye history- a lot of these young men are sophomores. Do I think anyone else should be playing ahead of him? Of course not. However, I believe, like the linebacking and d-line corps, that the big name is merely an important cog in the machine- not the machine in whole. I surely hope we maintain health throughout the season; but should an unfortunate injury occur, I feel that our depth is completely overlooked in the national spotlight.
