Game Thread Ohio State 37, Penn State 17 (final)

That PSU is going to roll 24-10 vs. OSU. I swear, some of them are almost as bad as ND fans.

"Beanie Wells isn't going to get 70 yards on us, and King will pick Boeckman off twice"

Never mind the fact that King has hands of fucking brick, and Wells is IMO the 2nd best back in the Big 10 and the best pro prospect at the position. (Come on, I do need to show some UM homerism at times  )
I don't think anybody can call you a homer for saying Hart is the best RB in the B10.

haha... Beanie is going to be around 100 yards, but the difference is Saine/Wells will get 50 also. Boeckman for 210 2td's and we win 21-10

As for Jenkins...There's not a reciever in the nation that could abuse this guy. I can think of 2 recievers that could give him fits on some plays (manningham/Duecett) but that's it. The quick smaller recievers generally struggle big time with Jenkins size/strength to go with the speed he brings. Dorian Bryant>Williams and we saw what we did to him.

I PROMISE YOU the leading reciever for PSU will be Butler #3.

I just don't see where PSU is going to attack this defense? They'll have to be extremely balanced in order to put up some points, and with the way we put the running game down that's goin to be tough to do.

I've actually heard, aside form the small seats, that watching a game in Ann Arbor isn't that bad at all. Friends of mine who went up for the game had a good time and said some UM fans were even courteous.
They're very curtious. Look how quiet they stay so that the players can concentrate on the game.

LOL. I'll put PSU, ND & scUM fans all in one group :tongue2:

I know you don't like Michigan, but come on, that's offensive even by our rivalry standards.

1. ND

2. PSU
3. Every SEC school

I actually can tolerate OSU fans. You guys seem to have a pretty even keel as to when you're going to be really good and when you're just gonna be okay.

I don't agree with that- Jenkins has slipped in performance a bit this year (compared to last), and as of right now, I don't think Jenkins is the best DB the Buckeyes have in the defensive backfield. Jenkins happens to be our marquee, but I think there are players who are contributing more right now (namely, the younger, hungrier guys).

No, you just recognize the other guys more because no one would even DREAM of throwing at MJ because they know what will happen. I truly think that Malcolm is the best player on our defense, bar none. When he is in, his side of the field just doesn't exist. And I dont mean just passing either. You cant pass to that side, you cant run to that side, hell you can't even pump fake to that side cause everyone on the D knows its a joke. I truly want to know what the longest play to that side of the field has been this year when he was playing corner.

I would have to 100% disagree with that opinion. Jenkins is the best DB we have period. He allows the other DBs to make plays.

I personally think Jenkins looks even better this year. When given opportunities (stopping the run, rare passes his way) he has looks INCREDIBLE.

Also, a question for the whole board

How do you think Beanie will play against a very good PSU defense against the run?

I think 25 carries for 130-140...I may be going over the top a little but I really believe that Beanie is going to DOMINATE down the stretch.

Their offensive play will begin on the ground.

Always has really, probably - while JoePa is still there to harangue slow drivers on campus - it always will.

What they picked up in the games post Scott's ouster with legal problems was more reliability and strength in the rushing game. This is good for Penn State, it is also bad for Penn State.
The good is that they actually have something to look to now in the running game. If they can get it going that should take some pressure of Morelli.
The bad? That new found assertiveness in the rushing attack has come against teams without the run-stuffing (stifling?) defense that the Buckeyes bring to the table. If they have to go one-dimensional no amount of white-out will help erase the flaws in their passing game.

How will it go? I say those Silver Bullets can get that run-stuffing into gear, Morelli becomes the one-dimensional point of attack and the Buckeyes can tee off with Zone blitzes.

This may be one of those nights that works out to be less close than prior Happy Valley travel dates.

If Beanie's ankle holds up for four quarters, with the deep rotation of our OL, we should be able to wear down their front four and take it right to their LBs. Now, fucking Dan Conner and Sean Lee may get a ton of tackles to pad their stats, but most will be beyond the LOS when Beanie trucks their asses for 4-6 yards a pop...

paterno knows he cant throw the ball 30 plus times and win...he has to run the ball or the penn state defense will be on the field all night....i think ballard is going to be huge in this game..and i think this is the week saine starts to figure into the line up more...can see him giving them fits on screens and quick passes....and we saw last year on robiskie's catch that he can get open against the nits secondary...i would like to see more short passes over the middle and more outs to robiskie....i expect osu to come out five wide at times also...conner AND LEE WILL GET FUCKING BULLDOZED AT SOME POINT

I just wore a Buckeye shirt(not a jersey) to the Jaguar MNF game(95% of Faguar fans are Gators the other 5% are other SEC fans), if I can take that you can take wearing a jersey to PSU. :wink2:

I did get one "Go Bucks!".

I did the same thing and was able to walk out of the stadium just fine.

Forgive me if its been mentioned, but I see on weather.com that it is supposed to rain all day and drizzle at game time. I like our chances if Beanie can hold on to the football.

Just saw the picture on the homepage for the first time. If seeing that damn white out doesn't get you fired up, you've gotta be brain dead!
