Game Thread Ohio State 3, Southern Cal 35 (Sept. 13)

Random thought for the day. When Ohio State beat Notre Dame they went into the shitter and the same thing happened to Miami. For some reason a loss to Ohio State is like a vampratic touch. I know IF we beat USC and IF they go into a tailspin there will be stories about the Reggie Bush incident tainting the program but you heard it hear first. Look at what happened to Texas for christ sake and don't tell me anything about any one player graduating. Texas was good before VY but not after losing to OSU. One more thing, SEC speed is a joke. The only reason the SEC is the top dog right now is that they are 9-0 vs OSU. Now I become death, the destory of worlds - USC beware.

Thats a good point, but USC has a good program so I am not doubting they could win. But I dont want them too. :oh:

We faced 2 experience laden teams with terrible coaches in Notre Dame and Miami, that had more to do with things than a vampratic touch.

Before it became clear that Ohio State would be able to play in the National Title Game I was hoping with all my might that we'd get to play against USC in the Rose Bowl. I felt as though going into the Rose Bowl and beating USC would be a big step in regaining respect/legitimacy (whatever you want to call it) because we won the Big Ten title outright--no one would question why we were in the game. Of course I was pumped to have the opportunity to play in the NCG but I was saddened that we wouldn't get the chance to play USC.

Now we finally have our chance to play a great team in USC and to re-prove that we have EVERY right to be considered yet again as one of the teams likely to go to the NCG.

Again, I think alittle to much is being made of the o-line. Those 3 o-linemen we lost missed some games last year, and I believe all but 1 of the new guys had multiple starts, at different positions. If the coaching staff can get the positions set early, I dont think it will be as big a deal as people think. At TE right now I think McCoy is slated as a starter, but Ellison had a good spring, and I look for the freshman Ayles to get some pt also. The kid is the real deal. At wr they can only get better with a full season under their belts, but we will see. Everything still points to sanchez IMO. His mobility will help the o-line alittle bit until they gell better.:)

umm... FYI USC returns just 24 combined starts on the O-line, good for 10th least in the nation. Ohio State returns four O-linemen who combined to start 52 games last year alone...

Kinda of tough to get playing time when there is a man named Fred Davis in front of you on the depth chart. USC uses the tight end as a receiver frequently (unlike Ohio State), McCoy will be a frequent target. And he will be good. Doesn't have Davis' speed, but has all his other tools.

McCoy has 2 career receptions, neither Ellison or Ayles has ever played a down in a game.

We (the SEC) aren't 9-0 versus tOSU - that's just in bowl games. Don't make it worse than it is. The speed of UFs DE's, however, was not a joke when last we met.

I hope we get to play again for all the marbles this year, but UF won't be undefeated. Maybe we can squeak in with another one loss season.

The bad news is, I think we can be there with a loss, but I don't think y'all can. That would not be fair, but I think it's accurate. Fortunately, you will beat USC this year and shut those ******* up.
