Game Thread Ohio State 3, Southern Cal 35 (Sept. 13)

If they have to stick their foot somewhere it doesn't belong... again... nike should mess with SC's away unis, where gold does not work well with white. Their home uni's are classic, black would look terrible.

"According to this page, there are rumors (and I stress that there?s nothing more solid than that) that Nike wants USC to wear black jerseys against Ohio State (with thanks to Glenn Tanner)."

from the comments...
I heard from a USC source the black jerseys will be worn for the THU night game on ESPN since that is also a break from tradition.

sure but we know its the exception, not the rule. Now add to that the more times you are turning over players the more opportunities you have for the rule to happen instead of the exception.

Its not like I think the USC kids will be pulling a twit olympics out there or anything but in general terms its better to have experience than lack it, especially along the OL and QB.

I realize that, but people here are already starting to talk themselves into that week-before lather where you demonstrate mathematically that your team can't lose. Slllooowww down.

Anyway, some practice reports from yesterday:

Thanks for the great links!

With the speed of this thread compared to Texas, I hope it doesn't slow down. For me, however, I don't want to get too caught up until I catch their game with the Cavs. Interestingly, there seems to be a fervor among some of the USC fans about putting that game first. I like that about Tressel. Might be one of the several things that these coaches do that gains them such respect, and still share in common.

Don't get me wrong, I'm just ready for the next few weeks to fly on by...

USC linebacker Rey Maualuga is one of the most fierce hitters in college football and today he was dishing out the punishment. Even though the Trojans weren?t in pads for practice Rey was still lowering the boom. During the inside run period he leveled Allen Bradford and caused a fumble.

I have to assume they are not going all out on the third day of practice. Any reports of helmet to helmet?
