Granted, we did dodge a couple of bullets named Sutton and Hill last year, but 3 rushing TDs is impressive on any level. It's easy to lose perspective of just how good our defenses have been over the last few years, since the bar has been set so high. Some stats jump out because they seem improbable. One that comes to mind was in 06 when we didn't allow a single point scored after a turnover until the UM game. This years D is primed to be one of the best in recent history, and I'm sure they know it. I was a bit surprised at how high the DTs were rated by CFN. Sounds like they think experience and the emergence of Larimore will have a big impact. I couldn't find the USC preview on CFN, so I assume it's on the way. It will be interesting to see how the teams stack up in Fiutak's eyes. Considering he gave OSU's RB corp a 10, I guess he'll have to pull a Spinal Tap and go to 11 for USC, since they have 4 RBs and a frosh TE who are better than Beanie. :slappy:

Well, the waterboy runs a 4.5, so i'm sure he'd be second on tOSU's depth chart if he transferred...

More apt for the thread is the fact that the Buckeyes gave up only 12 rushing touchdowns in their WORST years by that metric since 2001.

No other team has given up fewer than 15 touchdowns in their worst year (by that metric) since 2001.

The apt question for this thread becomes: Can USC score more than 12 rushing TDs on OSU on September 13th?

Has there ever been a team that allowed 12 rushing TDs in a game and still won despite only scoring FGs and safeties itself? Just curious.
