Game Thread Ohio State 3, Southern Cal 35 (Sept. 13)

All BCS Championship go through Columbus!

Is it just me? Our buckeyes been in some really importamt games these past few years, that has some kind of impact to the BCS title game. Moreover, have been the bigger then life in TV ratings , such as this years Game of the year against the west Coast powerhouse USC that has all the nation at a buzz except the SEC.

Is there cfb anywhere else besides the sec? Honestly, sec fans think that there isnt cfb played anywhere else but the sec! The rest are just imitators!

USC's strength against the run goes beyond the DL, though. Cushing, Maualuga, and Brown/Maiva is probably the strength of the team, and the safeties Mays and Ellison are very good and will help to limit long runs.

It all starts up front though. I know you have future 1st rounders littered across the DL but after losing Jackson and Ellis, especially Ellis, it is going to be a major challenge keeping Beanie under a 100 in just their second game of the season. I don't think he'll put up astronomical stats but I think 150-160 yards is realistic.

As a fan, I am curious to see how the nose guard position pans out in fall practice. Big sed will not be easily replaced. Can he be replaced? Sure. I believe everyone can be replaced, eventually. Will it happen this season, we shall see.:)

I think anyone predicting a beatdown is being unfair. It's not impossible, but both defenses will keep them in the game. Who will pick up the ugly yards, up the gut, over the middle, escaping a protection breakdown.

See I also think this point is very true, but who does the pertain more to? We can go Fansy with a 5 wide set, or we can just line it up and kick your ass too. The more I hear about Mcknight the more he starts to scare me, but Beanie is exactly what USC does not want to see in just their second week. A runner who while he can go east/west but prefers to make a cut and go North/South. As I said above USC's got talent all over the place for sure, but when you replace 2 all american dlineman you're not going to be as good. Same thing for Sanchez, I don't care how good he is he's not much good if our dline is penetrating well enough (imagine if we had gholston back too!!). I like the line play to decide it all and thats where the bucks have the clear advantage. The wells' , and McKnights of the world don't mean shit if they can't find open room.

I guess it all depends on whether DT Fili Moala steps up as he is primed to do. If the running game does get going, I can also see PC bring in Clay Matthews Jr to play the Elephant, stand-up DE position.
Dont forget, CPC was really excited in what he seen in Christian Tupou in the spring! Said he has a non-stop motor, and that would be a big asset on the d-line. Spicer is in the mix as well. :)

"but when you replace 2 all american dlineman you're not going to be as good". I sorta agree with your comment except that last year, the bucks had to replace a couple of pretty good receivers, and a heisman qb, and they did pretty well, dont you think? I think anything is possible, so we will see.:)

You're on the money.....OSU replaced some very valuable people, and the kids responded very well. Well past even the lofty OSU fan base expectations. But that's what you recruit for. SC has the same 2's and 3's that OSU has (actually more highly rated), so it's not inconceivable that the SC kids do as well. In retrospect, don't think many would have projected that Boeckman, the two Brians, etc. would have done as well as they did. We'll see about the SC kids. The potential is definitely there, and the motivation, so we'll see how well the 'rubber meets the road'.
