troy#1;1258383; said:Did they let him go, and then charge him with a dui days later? Not the same thing. Trust me, when I lived in cali, the cops dont let you go for nothing! If they even thought he was remotely involved, they arrest him and let the judge figure it out. If, and thats a big if, he is guilty, he will be dealt with. I know most dont believe that, but he will be in trouble.
ysubuck;1258396; said:It is suspicious. It tells me that the cop didn't arrest him when he should have. Why not?
Again, he has been charged with a FELONY. Your coach then offers this up:
"I spoke to him and got his side. I'm not going to punish him."
So Shareece's side is good enough for Pete, but the DA still felt there was cause enough to charge him with a felony. Doesn't that sound bad to you at all as a USC fan??
Kurt Sexington;1258393; said:First of all, let's not jump to conclusions. Anyone remember the Sanchez rape allegations? Did those turn out to be true? Let's wait for this thing to unfold.
Secondly, I won't get into a debate about SC's institutional control but I will say that Carroll cares alot about the image of the program and his own image as a coach. If he felt that Wright was in serious trouble with the law, he'd bench him.
I sincerely hope this won't degenerate into mudslinging between both sides as to whose program is cleaner. SC, like most elite schools, has had players who have had problems with the law. Overall though, this is not a program with a serious lack of institutional control like Miami or Florida State in the nineties or Penn State right now. Let's just cool our jets, take a step back and see if we can debate this calmly.

The reality is, he is playing tonight, and more information will come out later about the exact situation to let us know how justified that decision was. As a snap judgment, I don't agree with Petey's approach, but we'll be able to come to more solid conclusions later about that we just can't come to now.
EidoloN;1258402; said:I didn't mean to debate on which program was cleaner, sorry about that bro.
It is obvious that something went down that night that shouldn't have. I do not remember the Sanchez "allegations", but if it was "allegations", that is totally different from being CHARGED. PC shouldn't just base what happened off of what a player says. If it wasn't that bad or he wasn't in the wrong, then there wouldn't have been a charge. A player needs to be held accountable for the decisions he/she makes, that even means being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This is all an opinion, not bashing or program debate intended.

Kurt Sexington;1258405; said:If it comes out the Wright was absolutely guilty of what he was charged of and that there was no reason to believe his side of the story, I will be very, very disappointed with Carroll, believe you me. Until then, however, I'll try to mirror the US Justice system and treat Wright as innocent until proven otherwise.
