Game Thread Ohio State 3, Southern Cal 35 (Sept. 13)

Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever is basically like Lyme Disease(tick bite diseases) and a serious infection. He'll get a major course of antibiotics but he could suffer from the disease for years. Hate to see anyone with this disease. :(

Week 3 NCAA Projections

Game of the Week: #1 Ohio State 27 (3-0) @ #5 USC 16 (1-1)

If the New England vs. Indianapolis game last season was Super Bowl XLI.5, is this game BCS Championship.5? Or is it the Grandmommy of Them All? No matter what name sticks, this non-conference showdown will be one of the most anticipated regular season games ever. Two top 5 teams in our pre-season Power Rankings square off in a game that means everything to the perception and direction of the program of the visiting team and its conference. If Ohio State wins, it could erase many of the doubts surrounding its last two championship game performances as it eases into this year's national championship. If the Buckeyes lose, then Ohio State cannot truly be considered an elite team and the Big Ten looks like a weak BCS conference. We say they win - convincingly. In the simulated game, Ohio State wins 87% of the time, by an average score of 27-16. It is the only game all season (until the national championship) where OSU is less than a 95% favorite.

I'm sure they will all be good and no one is going to get a lot of PT with FD in front of them. Point was simply, once again, to illustrate just how severe the inexperience is. No one is as good as a Frosh as they are as a SR. When you lose big time upperclassmen and replace them with brand new players there is a drop off no matter how talented the replacement is.

I know these guys are all going to be very good but honestly, if we switched places and you guys were coming into the Shoe with your whole damn team back from last year and we had your issues with youth and inexperience, I'd be concerned.

i'm already concerned about next year. we will be VERY green when 'SC comes to The 'Shoe.

the author of meat market (feldstein?) was on CFB live yesterday talking about that. he said it's a good way to get beanie running full steam. he said they were playing around with it in camp but it won't be a very common set. i don't even know what it is.

found a couple articles. you're right. it's something they're playing around with... over on BN they're making a really big deal about it. saying things like, 'finally! some variety on Offense.' i guess those knuckleheads were too busy complaining to notice that Troy Smith won the freaking Heisman running a spread, and last year we were in single back, two tight end (silver package) sets more than the previous six years combined... oh well. some things never change, and the Buckeyes will continue to have quite possibly the largest contingent of negative-Nancy, know-nothing, know-it-alls in the country.

if anyone is surprised that Tressel put in a few new offensive formations this year, just refer to my formation chart in the Penn State game thread from last year... he tweaks the O every year. here's the link
