Game Thread Ohio State 28, Troy 10 (Final, Sep. 20)

Oh, give me a break. Everyone has ups and downs. Archie did, Eddie did, Troy did, Pryor did/will, and yes, even our beloved JT does. To assume that Tressel does not have slumps is being nothing but blinded by your bias for Buckeyes.

In no way whatsoever did I suggest that JT isn't the man for the job. He certainly is. However, he is in a slump. He'll get out of it, just like he did in 2004. No worries. But, don't give me this Tressel-beats-Michigan-so-therefore-he's-flawless junk. Tressel constantly says stuff like "we need to get better each week of the season..." and I think he's the first to admit that he's included in that statement.

I think you misunderstood. It sickens me to hear that the kind of coach I dreamed of getting since I started following tOSU, a coach that could do what JT has done against TSUN, is "unpopular" with Buckeye fans. I don't care what other fans standards are, mine were simple. Beat Michigan. Everything else, to me, is icing. I agree JT is in a "slump", though I see little benefit on my part to critique him, as I don't have half the football knowledge as him. If JT thinks something is broke, I trust he works harder at finding a solution than most on here work at their jobs. I also believe that he not only wants to fix it, but that he is highly capable of doing so, without any fan assistance. And as long as he beats TSUN, I'm more than willing to let him figure it out on his own.

I was just saying that it bothers me that other fans think so poorly of the coach they all say they wouldn't trade for anyone on earth. If there is no better alternative, then why complain about what you have? What does that solve?

Again, I'm not saying people don't have the right to feel that way, just that I don't understand the logic.

Are you referring to me? If so, it's not a big deal. I'd just like to respond if you are. No dings or anything like that.

There was a general confidence and excitement by a lot of posters that seems to be gone now. The board had this feeling. It no longer has this feeling.

It's nobody in particular, everybody in the football sections seems to be posting with a different tone after USC.

Nope... just the overall attitude of the board. I think the post right below yours sums it up pretty well.

Are you trying to say that you are above that?
No, just stating what I have observed. My attitude has changed as well as my expectations...
