That's not true...Iowa wasn't our first Big Ten game that year...Penn State was. We played Iowa after we played Penn State. And we beat Penn State 28-6 that year at home.'85 was also the last time that Iowa was on the cover of SI IIRC.
...
most spookiness
...
Iowa has been off the schedule for 2 years.
The last time we played them, we had a road game against a ranked team the week before. We won that road game (Texas) 24-7. Then we trucked Iowa.
You see where I'm going with this... We won a road game last week by that same 24-7 score: so obviously Iowa is about to get trucked. It's not like they're independent events or anything. There is spookiness at work that must be respected.

High-quality stuff from Hawkeye Nation, no doubt.I especially like the "Bone Crushing Blocks," the "One of These Guys Catches it" on the pass play, and the "Vandenburg is the Mandenburg" T-Shirt.

Good for them though that Penn State joined the league, so they can bully somebody else. Thank you Penn State, for being Iowa's punching bag.
On a side note...i've seen some bowl projections that have Ohio State winning this game, but Iowa still going to the Fiesta Bowl. Could a 2 loss Iowa team make the BCS??? If not, who would get the at-large bids over them?
I think Iowa's defense could keep them in the game. This game could come down to a few plays. We just can't give them any easy points.AS the doctor said when Charlie Weis was born........."This one could get ugly".
I don't see how Iowa would stay ranked high enough for an at-large BCS bid, especially if the score of Sat's game is lopsided like it very well could be.

Get your head out of the milk bowl. We are going to blow Iowa away with our new found offensive prowess. I was impressed enough last saturday to believe.Bucky Katt;1591294; said:Agreed. I expect both offenses to struggle to move the ball. Whoever can avoid committing turnovers and giving up big plays on offense. Both team seem to share the philosophy of controlling the ball, running effectively, hitting on big plays in the passing game, and having great special teams.
I expect OSU to do a much better job of keeping McNutt and Johnson-Koulianos from getting behind the defense than some other teams (Indiana ) have done. Make Vandenburg win the game by moving the ball through the air. If he can do it, bravo to them.

Most teams have been able to score on the hawks even though they managed to pull out games at the last second.
And now they have a frosh starting and we wll beat them like a tied up goat.
