I don't remember Iowa being shutout for a long time....in fact I can't remember the last time. It certainly hasn't happened in the last 6-7 years. I think Ferentz finds a way of getting the Hawkeyes some points (FGs).

Didn't shutout no.4 happen last weekend? lol
10/14/2000
Illinois (5-6) 31
Iowa (3-9) 0

That was the last time Iowa was shut out.

For the curious, Ohio State was last shut out 11/20/93
Michigan (8-4) 28
Ohio State (10-1-1) 0

Just another reason to beat the living shit out of the Wolverines next week!

You need to recheck your facts.

That would mean a 6-4 Michigan team not only beat a 9-0-1 OSU, they dominated them. As others have already pointed out, a 5-6 or 6-5 UM team has no chance whatsoever of staying on the field against an OSU team that has already lost two game, even in Ann Arbor.

No history lessons here. We have played the game numerous times in NCAA 2009 and the result is always the same.

You also need to remember who was the Ohio State head coach in 1993 and who is the Ohio State head coach in 2009. History lesson indeed needed.

...and the state of the two teams. scUM was having a down year in '93, but they were nowhere near the mess this group is.

...And all of which doesn't have a damn thing to do with this week's game vs. Iowa.
Oh yeah, that's what this thread is about. :so:

Well anyway, I'm not intimidated in the least by Iowa, W-L record aside they've looked like garbage all year, and now they're starting from scratch offensively with their QB1. Our defense is good, I figure we can easily shut down the run, force this Vandenberg guy to throw, and then send him blitzes that will give him nightmares for years.

But considering our inconsistency this year (people were pretty confident about beating Purdue, if I recall correctly,) I won't count my chickens before they hatch. One big game at a time. Let's give the seniors a good home send-off, win the Big Ten, and get that Rose Bowl bid. Then we can worry about those folks up north.

For those who believe history repeats itself:

The last time Iowa played in a winner-take-all game for the Rose Bowl was in 1957 against Ohio State in Columbus:

OSU 17 Iowa 13

The next week in Ann Arbor ("meaningless game"):

OSU 31 Michigan 14

The Rose Bowl:

OSU 10 Oregon 7

GPA!!!

Great find. Best part is that I think Oregon will be the Rose Bowl opponent this year. I would love the same results. And 11-2 year with a outright Big Ten Championship, making it 5 in a row, and a Rose Bowl championship...plus the even bigger win against Michigan, would be very very special.

I don't care about talk before hand. If you are joining me and the other 100k+ on Saturday, We need full home field advantage. 3 downs of yelling not yelling on just 3rd down. This is one of those games that the crowd can fully affect the offense on the other side and could make things that much easier on our defense. Let's send the Seniors out of the Shoe with goosebumps!

If not, why, in a moment look to see
The blind and bloody Buckeye with swift defensive end
Defile the locks of your shrill-shrieking quarterbacks;
Your coaches taken by their silver hair,
And their most reverend heads dash'd to the walls,
Your precious redshirts forced to play,
Whilest the mad bookies with their howls confused
Do break the clouds, as did the fans of Lions Nittany
At JoPa's bloody beatdown.
What say you? will you yield, and this avoid,
Or, guilty in defence, be thus destroy'd?
