I always have felt that defering in college gives your team the best chance to win. I like getting the ball in the 2nd half, and I like going on defense first. I'd love to go on defense first in this one...but I don't think we will, no matter which way the coin lands. So here is to scoring points on the opening drive :)

Yea one of the obvious advantages to me of deferring is the hope that your defense can get a quick stop and leave you with a short field when your offense gets out there.

The disadvantage being that if the defense does score then you're playing for behind (and perhaps pressured to respond) from the very get go.

Hypothetically I feel better giving our defense a chance to do the former though

Ive been wondering if the annual wrinkles (on offense) we save for scUM, will be shown vs PSU, and Iowa this year.

Well running a double reverse pass against a team your favored over by 40 seems like about the most obvious "set up" thing you could possibly show the team your playing the next week

No doubt there will be wrinkles, I don't know that it's necessarily the same wrinkles we would have been saving for Michigan, because you don't necessarily attack those 2 defenses the same way. Pryor did reference in his interview how much he and the guys liked the game plan/schemes that were implemented for the PSU game though

I don't know how were going to score points but I expect us to play very well on defense and we pull out the win. :) :oh:
Touchdowns are worth 6 points. Get the ball to the end zone and that is your reward. You also get a chance to kick an extra point after that, or go for 2 points by trying to get to the end zone again.

Field goals are worth 3 points. This is when you kick the ball through the uprights.

Also of note: If we do the field goal thing 3 times, and they do the touchdown thing + extra point only once, it's possible for us to win the game.
