Game Thread Ohio State 23, Purdue 7 (final)

Great win on the road. Our defense is inspired to say the least. Also love the way the O came out and put up 2 touchdowns right off the bat. Put the Boilers in the hole and with our D, it was over in a hurry.

Only negative is the INT's. This was my fear earlier in the year. Todd puts too much air under it and often underthrows guys. He'd gotten lucky so far...but ya had to know that once we start playing some better quality defenses (and Purdue isn't great) that Todd was going to start getting picked off. Definately something they have to work at. And I love Anderson Russell, but somebody teach him how to catch the football:)

She asked him about USC losing, and he let her know that he didn't know about it until she said it and informed her he was "working." :slappy: Then she started talking about the rankings and you know JT doesn't get caught up in that stuff, and he basically let her know that and he would just be worrying about watching tape and helping his team improve for next week.

Awesome.
He did look kinda pissed... which makes me happy. So long as everyone thinks there are things to work on they shouldn't overlook Kent St. (or MSU after that, cuz I'm overlooking Kent St. :))

Good win tonight. D was great, nothing to add from me.

The run game was great, especially with the amount of times we ran tonight.

The passing game was worrisome after the fast start. Todd made good reads on the first two, a poor read on the last one. (If I'm wrong on that, correct me, I was going off the description of radio.) I think he can work on the mechanics and touch of the passes, but if he makes the right reads, it's not nearly as much of a problem. It's not as if he can't make the passes either, so I hope he can work out the kinks.

Onside kick? Are you kidding me?

The Purdue fans have no idea how bad their team just got their asses kicked. This is the hallmark of Jim Tressel football. He is almost always in complete control, despite what the opposition may think.

I like the way this game went. Purdue showed up for a blackout, and they received a knockout. Ohio State dominated this game, but there was still enough mistakes by Ohio State to keep the players' attention when the staff tells them they have miles to go to get to the level they want to end up at.

It was good to see Brandon Saine get in there and get some carries. They're gonna need him in the second half of the season.

The interceptions from Boeckman were somewhat disappointing. The first two were not the best decisions, and were underthrown. The last one was just plain AWFUL. It's part of the growing process for him and as long as he learns from them and makes some better decisions down the road, he'll be OK.

Marcus Freeman was a beast tonight. He made plays against the run, in coverage and in the pass rush. He's caught a lot of flak on this board, but tonight at least he stepped up and defied his detractors.

buckeyes rock- those runs are never coming for MoW. We've been waiting for 3 years now for these sweeps and quick pitches yet they still give him the ball right up the middle. As excited as I am for our team the way Purdue handled the last 3:50 totally pisses me off..Anyone wanna make a Huge Drum so that they don't have "The Worlds Largest Drum" to get back at them?

Hard to believe he stuck around this year if JT told him we'll never get you outside the tackle box. I have to believe somewhere in that sweater vest is a guy who knows how to use his bag a tricks. Didn't he study the Saints this summer to figure out how to utilize the 2 backs like Reggie and Deuce???

Saving it for the second half of the season or maybe the last GAME

Geez, bro, chill! He's playing for The Ohio State University Buckeyes. He had a good night and he is getting reps. Tressel calls plays for his team and Mo Wells knows that. What should Tressel do, open the playbook up so Mo Wells will feel a bit better about himself? Tonight Mo had some great yards after contact, let's just focus on him having a good night and not on some allegations that he is unhappy.

Oh, and Tressel didn't need to visit the Saints to figure out how to run an offense.
