VZW is building out the cellular infrastructure all over campus and will let all cell providers use it. The stadium and the Schott are the first places to see upgrades, followed by academic buildings.

Here's the full upgrade schedule for the "neutral host wireless distribution system":

Phase I: Target completion of June 13, 2013
  • Wexner Medical Center Main Campus and Hospital East
  • Police Command Center Ohio Stadium
  • OSU Police Headquarters, Blankenship Hall
  • Parking lots at Ohio Stadium and Schottenstein Arena
  • Thompson Library, Ohio Union, Blackwell Inn
  • Tactical outdoor deployment to address indoor/outdoor coverage as a gap solution until Phase II is completed.
Phase II: Target Completion date of June 13, 2014
  • Residence Halls
  • 95% of outdoor campus space
  • Ohio Stadium
  • Schottenstein Arena
Phase III: This phase will include new construction identified since the beginning of the project and test the adequacy of campus coverage and determine what, if anything, is necessary for Phase III construction.

Re: This season could just be a test run, but plan is for Ohio State to sell subscriptions for in-stadium service with access to stats & replays.

This currently free on the scoreboard.
:roll1:
Well except for those controversial replays they never show. (which they might for a fee)

And the stats are there, but these might be more detailed stats and not just for whoever just did the play

I'm going to my 2nd game in the Shoe ever this year and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on where to sit. The 1st time I went I was given tickets so that was taken care of. I'm going to the Wisconsin game this year. I don't want to sit in the worst seats in the house but I also don't want to pay $500 for a ticket. Are there any good value seats/sections that a rookie wouldn't know about? Any advice would be appreciated. TIA.

Most people won't agree with me, but having been to 40 or so games in my day and having sat pretty much everywhere except the press box and Huntington Club, I'll say that any ticket that gets me inside the stadium is a good one.

Given the choice I prefer the birds-eye view of C-deck, but I tend to look for getting the right number of seats together at the right price before I look at location.

I have sat in a few different locations around the stadium, and I prefer C deck as well. I guess that depends on your opinions. But I'd say that the only bad seats in the stadium would be right behind a pillar in B deck and arent there some seats high up in C or D deck where there is a view of only half the field? Or was that Pre-2002?

Agreed. Anywhere but B deck.

Levy Restaurants, one of the premier stadium concession providers, signed a seven-year deal with Ohio State in the spring, replacing longtime food service provider Sodexo. On Wednesday, they welcomed a select group of people into the Huntington Club at Ohio Stadium for a taste testing event.

“Ohio State is incredibly passionate about creating an exceptional experience for this vibrant community of students, faculty, family and fans,” Andy Lansing, President and CEO of Levy Restaurants, told Eleven Warriors. “We are thrilled to work together with Ohio State in every aspect, from how we partner with the community and local businesses, to offering a new variety of culinary options and an exciting new level of hospitality that celebrates the spirit of this distinguished institution.”

Levy currently provides concessions for 21 sports venues around the country, including Churchill Downs and AmericanAirlines Arena. Iowa State and Purdue are the only colleges that use Levy's services. They also outfit the Grammy's with food items.

One big positive: Levy will use Ohio-based artisans and farms almost exclusively. Athletic director Gene Smith said Levy's creativity was one factor in being selected as the university's food service provider.

Oh, and one other thing, Graeters will have ice cream trucks on-site. Enjoy.

Contd....

I work at the Medical Center and have a seen a drastic improvement of cell service in the last week. From a bad 3g signal to a full 4g, everywhere I go.

My appreciation for tOSU fans, and the Horsehoe just gets bigger every time I go to the atmospheric snooze fest that is a UCF home game. Nothing compares to the Horseshoe being packed to the gills with 105k+ fans and TBDBITL.

My Dearest Love,

Thank you. I wish I had the words to express the joy you have given us all for another historic season. Once again your honor remains unscathed by the treachery of those that would try to conquer you. Your strength and beauty are only surpassed by your ability to comfort your children as you cradle them in your ample bosom. Your arms stretched wide, offering a loving embrace to every O-H-I-O that rings out throughout the world. This time of year always brings a tear to my eye, as I know it's time to say goodnight, and let you regain your strength for next year. I just hope you have one more party in you. You deserve it.

Love,

HF

Some seats in 11C can only see from the northern 10 yd line to the endzone but I don't think those seats are actually sold. Never even saw anyone walk up to them the season I was in 12C

Btw back row of C deck is amazing. Great view+ a seat back to lean up against and you are still in the student section. I hate sitting along the sides of the field sure the seats are nice but its a bunch of people who don't even have the energy to go along with the O-H-I-O chant or cheer for their team.

More seats and permanent lighting:

The sea of scarlet and gray in the south end zone at Ohio Stadium is about to grow a little bigger for the coming season at the price of nearly $9 million.

Seating is being added to the south stands to move about 2,500 students out of the north end zone C-Deck, Dan Wallenberg, associate athletics director of communications, said in an email.

The project is set to start this week with an August completion date, Wallenberg said, and construction company Barton Malow is working on the project.

Permanent lighting installations on top of the stadium walls are also set to be added to Ohio Stadium during this time. The entire project is slated to cost the Department of Athletics $8.9 million, Wallenberg said.

The project’s completion is set to result in 18,900 total student seats in the south stands and 9,400 at the north end, he said.

Sorry for double posting. I guess this might be an update LOL
