Game Thread Ohio 14, Ohio State 26 (Sept. 6)

Screw ESPN

I was watching one of the halftime reports on ESPN, and our game final score came across the scroll bar at the bottom. Usually it has the score, the leaders and their stats and maybe a HUGE play in the final minute of the 4th. NO! Not ours. It had our score, then our score in the 3rd quarter, then it went on to mention our upcoming game with USC and how we have lost the last 5 meetings. WTF is that about?!? I understand its ESPN and all, but damn, they didn't give that kind of detailed report on the scroll bar about any other top 10 team.

That spark needs to come from a WR not Pryor. 4-5 dropped passes today, and no one can get open.

I would say a spark has happened:

Hartline after the game:

?OU was here to play today ad there was definitely a point when we needed to wake up. It was a dogfight and we never really had that big play in the game on offense. We have a lot of things we need to work on this upcoming week.?

Yeah it sounds liek Hartline is starting to get frustrated with the level of play so far. Yeah the first game we didn't do that bad but I thought the WR's were still inconsistent that game and especially in the OU game.

I like Hartline but he's got to step up he's got the tools to be a special reciever but where has he gone?

not me I hope Michigan takes it to Notre Dame. Seriously you want Charlie Mcbutterfingers and Jimmy Clausen to win over an in conference school?? explain....

It's not just any conference school, it's Michigan. I don't want Michigan to make a bowl game and losing to Notre Dame would certainly help that cause.

I doubt they {ND} beat tsun because they struggled to beat SDSU, a team that lost to cal poly san luis obispo. I didnt even know that CPSLO had a football team!

And scUM struggled to beat mighty Miami of Ohio. At least NoD showed some ability to move the ball and can actually pass. m*ch*g*n has no passing game whatsoever. One thing's for sure, that game will be good for some laughs.

How sweet would it be if the stadium was nuked next weekend? No more Irish and no more blue and yellow weasels! :susp:

Whoever wins, college football still loses because one of them will be that much closer to a bowl game.

Parallax view from section 33 B

I just returned from the game today and after a three hour ride home, here are my summary comments in several words or more:

  • Game #2 - thinking Illinois of '07
  • Tressel - give back the million dollar raise
  • Defense - 4 interceptions but still having trouble with the spread
  • Offense - should have scored on those INTs but noooo
  • Running Backs - Boom is #2, Mo is consistent, Zoom is not used effectively
  • Todd - too much defensive pressure means Todd has a bad day
  • Pryor - good runs, we need to see your long ball next week
  • O-Line - see Todd comment
  • D-Line - tackle their asses
  • Cordle - Oops the sun was in my eyes
  • Robo - 3 catches for 8 yards + shoulder = bad day in the sun
  • Hartline - catch the football we need you
  • Dane - Mr Clutch, eight more leaves on Sanzo's hat
  • Ray - I love you Ray, special player on special teams
  • USC game - worried some but Beanie is the spark on this team, so...
  • Winner - the Buckeys scored more point, the Bobcats really beat us
  • Tailgating - I think it was Chad from Dayton that made the killer bratwurst and burgers
  • Liquid refreshments - AGENTS were there giving $100 citations to those drinking from cans (lesson learned by some - always pour your Bud into a plastic cup)
  • Fans - always nice to experience the crowd. A group coming down the stairs in section 33 B started singing this song - awesome

Interesting, I think you mean. No way in hell could that be considered a "good game" by tOSU. If Ohio State had played a good game, it would've been over going into the second quarter.

One more thing, this team came out flat. We won on depth and talent today. And you can bet that Lil' Animal, Boone, Malcom, Marcus, and Robo sure as [censored] didn't come back for their senior season to play half assed football. This team is going to be JACKED come next saturday. If we play up to our potential, USC should get the hardest fought game this side of Texas '05. I have a feeling James wasn't [censored]ing around when he talked about coming back, in part, because of the love he feels from the fans. These guys are not going to let us down, they're not going to let EACH OTHER down. Have some faith, and as always, TRUST THE COACHES.

This is the best Buckyle post..........ever! I say we give him a GPA!

Some of you cats need to reign in the expectations.

The whining needs to stop. It's childish and depressing. The players and staff don't need any of us buffoons telling them what we saw and where the team needs to improve.

You guys make it sound like we lost another NC game or something.

We're taking on SC next week. Some you whiners need to get some perspective and go take something for the diarrhea.

Mods... please consider locking this thread down. It's not doing anybody any good. It's embarrasing.

Would hardly say one bad game is enough to negate all that Tressel has done to earn that extra million this past few seasons (recruiting excellence, beating scUM, wins, outstanding program leadership, etc) . Last week everyone talked his praises, we go out and have a bad game and then get this kind of response? Thats the kind of talk you hear from fair-weather fans, not Buckeye faithful. :shake:
