This one shouldn't take too long to play out. May ask him to hold up for a little until they can secure their WR's for '15 (Stump and Cager). But it should be just a matter of time...

Will be interesting to see what happens with Austin Mack (who some are pretty confident on). I'm sure we would take both, but I know ND was hedging their bets on getting 1 of the 2. Will be interesting to see how it plays out...

Thanks for the info, I didn't know where we stood with Layne but he is one of my favorite WRs nationally for '16. I would definitely think we take both Mack and Layne if they want to come...then go for one more stud, like Craig or Victor.

Speaking of Penn State, this is shaping up to be a huge weekend for the Nittany Lions. Heading into a night game against Ohio State, the Penn State coaching staff has lined up an impressive group of visitors, headlined by official visits from both Burrell and four-star defensive tackle Tim Settle, plus visits from other top 2015 targets Ricky DeBerry and possibly recently offered Clemson commit Juwuan Briscoe (mentioned earlier). More importantly, a number of top 2016 targets will be on hand, including Ahmir Mitchell, Jordan Fuller, Jauan Williams, Michal Menet, Naseir Upshur, Parker Boudreaux, Ron Johnson and Justin Layne. This is an enormous opportunity for Penn State, who will definitely have a raucous atmosphere on Saturday night. However, with the Nittany Lions floundering on the field in recent weeks and Ohio State embarrassing opponents during that same stretch, the risk is there that a dominant performance by the Buckeyes might push some recruits towards Columbus.

Class of 2016 four-star wide receiver Justin Layne has long been considered an Ohio State lean, so when he named the Buckeyes, along with Michigan State and Penn State, as his current top three, nobody was really surprised. However, the Buckeyes may not be as far ahead as originally thought. Layne has already made a few visits to Michigan State and is very comfortable there, while the Penn State staff has done a great job with him and has definitely made itself a threat. You still have to consider Ohio State the leader though, as the Buckeyes have several things going for them. Aside from being his state school and the Buckeyes being his favorite team growing up, his teammate and friend, Jerome Baker, just flipped to the Buckeyes from the Gators. Obviously there is a long way to go here, but for now it looks like the Buckeyes may have more of a challenge on their hands than expected.
