Five-Star, No. 2 Overall Wide Receiver Jamier Brown Commits to Ohio State As First Commit in Class of 2027

Ohio State has its first commitment in the 2027 class.

Jamier Brown — a five-star wide receiver and native of Huber Heights, OH — has committed to the Buckeyes as the football team's first recruiting commitment in the 2027 cycle.

The 5-11, 160-pound prospect had also entertained offers from Maryland, Notre Dame, Penn State and Auburn. However, the in-state homegrown product could not pass up on an opportunity to play for the school he has supported since his childhood.

“It felt great, it was exciting,” Brown told Eleven Warriors when he received an offer in June. “It’s all I thought about since I woke up. Especially since I’ve been an Ohio State fan my whole life.”

Just sayin': Three of his highlights are kick off returns, not too bad for a Freshman:

Had not heard of him but leading 9th and 2nd including 10th in the 60 yd dash across the whole country is wild. Looks like he could be a legit track athlete if he wanted to be.
He could be, he plays against pretty good competition overall and everyone looks like they are in slow motion compared to Brown. Probably the fastest OH kid since Teddy Ball Game and that's no joke. Plus he is not just a straight-line speed guy, he has WR skills...needs development but the potential is off the charts.

Definitely looks like he already has great after-the-catch moves. Really excited to see him get better and play at OSU.

Marc Givler has Jamier Brown as the best player in Ohio regardless of class.
Mark Porter said seeing Brown recently, it looks like he’s up to 6’1/6’2. Kid runs a 10.5 100m and is projected to be running a 10.3 by the time he finishes high school.
Brown just released his sophomore film:

I compared him to Ryan Williams and this kid definitely has that talent.
