Power backs work great in a power run spread system.....one of the many questions of the 2016 season will be why the hell we went away from that when Mike Weber seemingly got 5 yards every time he ran between the tackles.....

That being said I'm not sure Morgan is an elite back.....he's extremely stiff in his movement, lacks any shake, and shows limited field awareness in tape (stuff like stepping out of bounds unnecessarily while cutting upfield, carrying out blocking fakes when unneeded, etc.). Someone compared him to Warren Ball.....honestly, on tape, I think Ball looked far superior. Some of that could be rust in Ellison's game, but I just expect a lot more out of an OSU scholarship RB.

I dunno.....if we are going to pursue another power back, I just think there'd be better prospects available to flip.

No, not like Hyde or Zeke. They both had quick first steps and looked more explosive coming out of high school. I didn't say Morgan's size precluded him from playing in the spread. Derrick Henry was a great back but he would've been a square peg in a round hole in this offense because it took him a while to reach full speed. That's why I'm not sure Morgan would fit well in a spread offense where he wouldn't get a couple of steps before taking a hand off. Like I said, I see a lot of Warren Ball in his game and I think he can be a good college back. I'm just skeptical our offense is the right fit

I don't see it either... the kid has size and while that can benefit in short yard situations I don't see it translating to osu. We look for game breakers not specialty backs.

I too don't see that explosiveness and elusivness when watching his film. I don't see the home runs or even the 20 yarders that you often see on film.

If he commits and comes to OSU to live a dream I could never imagine I hope my post is thrown in my face. I'll always pull for a kid chasing his dream so if he comes here I'll be behind him no matter what.
