OH OL Liam Eichenberg (Notre Dame Signee)

FWIW Duane at Bucknuts knows someone who would know about this recruitment and says we'll be extremely hard to beat for Liam.
Ohio State has a good chance with an Ohio kid they offered during camp before the start of his sophomore season? It's times like these I am tempted to pay money for access to amazing insider knowledge like that.

Nice guys. I thought I was being helpful and sharing info but I guess it's not worth it. Good to know.

Info greatly appreciated.

Just some 10+ year old recruiting expert jokes. I don't know if there is still the interforum BS sub forum here or not but lots of good recruiting history there.

Me, I used to be addicted to the recruiting info.

Much more fun to spend your $79.95 on some high school football tickets and gas.

After travelling Ohio on Fridays for a couple of years taping OSU recruits and then seeing Jabba the recruiting expert that is so fat he cant leave his house without a chainsaw to open up a wall talk shit and my addiction was cured. There are no real experts just opinions. McCallister was the best, but a dick so he wasn't able to market his opinions successfully.

BP recruiting team is the best service to subscribe to. It is free but you are able to donate if you appreciate the work and the community.

Can't beat that and the info is the same generally.

Well that's stunning. It would certainly hurt to lose 2 5* in-state linemen next year.

And I don't get it. Warriner is doing a tremendous job developing offensive line talent... probably the best I've ever seen at Ohio State.

Right now - it's about relationships.

Ed Warinner is a GREAT offensive line coach and does an amazing job getting the most from the talent around him, but he's not the most personable cat in the world and that slows down his recruiting a bit. He's a doer not a talker.

Another year of Michigan turning 5-star offensive line talent into lazy underachieving slobs who pave the way for 3.2 yards per carry and we can hope that actions will speak louder than words.

Agree with @Buckeye86. Not worried about Eichenberg. Having Berger and Jones in Columbus won't hurt. As we saw with Larry Scott, another coach might get involved with Liam's recruitment. Warinner is like Heacock...brilliant coach who could do without the recruiting side of things if at all possible.

Let's keep in mind Coach Funk, and Brady Hoke for that matter, may not even be around that much longer.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING: THE BIG WEEKEND TAKES A HIT
There was some hullaballoo in our forums yesterday about a quote from 2016 Cleveland St. Ignatius lineman Liam Eichenberg. Essentially, Eichenberg stated that he's not developed — as of yet — as strong of a relationship with Ohio State's Ed Warinner as he has with coaches at other schools, namely Notre Dame and Michigan, who are each currently "ahead" of the Buckeyes on the four-stars list. This echoes what I mentioned a couple of months ago, as I said the Buckeyes had work to do with both Eichenberg and Kraemer, citing the relationship with Warinner as something that needed developing.

Now that contact is permitted on a more regular basis, expect Warinner — and Urban Meyer, and Mark Pantoni, and everyone wearing a whistle at Ohio State — to become much more involved with the bookend tackles from the Great State of.
Kraemer and Eichenberg are both planning on being in attendance for Ohio State's rivalry game against Michigan. Kraemer will be at Notre Dame this weekend as they host the Wolverines.

Gallimore in Ohio
The Athens at Steubenville game is not the only game of great interest the Buckeye commitments will be involved in this weekend. Cleveland St. Ignatius hosts Canada Prep Football Academy on Saturday night. The game features Ohio State defensive end commitment Dre’Mont Jones and Buckeye 2016 offensive tackle target Liam Eichenberg for St. Ignatius, and defensive tackle Neville Gallimore for Canada Prep Football Academy.

I will be at that game on Saturday night and will be posting updates from the game on the thread I start later today featuring Buckeye commitments in action this weekend. After the game I intend to talk to the three star prospects.

And speaking of Jones, I spoke with the future Buckeye on Friday night and one of the things I asked him about was Eichenberg. Of course there has been a lot of talk about Eichenberg and Notre Dame. And while Jones agreed Eichenberg is interested in the Fighting Irish, he said Eichenberg is also “definitely interested in Ohio State.” Jones said he doesn’t bother Eichenberg in regards to promoting Ohio State too much to him, but he does “hit him up” sometimes when it comes to eventually becoming a Buckeye.

As long as we don't lose Warriner, we'll continue to be solid on the offensive line. He hasn't had a ballyhooed recruit to work with yet (in the starting lineup) and he's already developed, possibly, the youngest and best offensive line in the Big Ten. The job he has done really is amazing.

Losing Kraemer and/or Eichenberg would hurt from a perception standpoint more than a production standpoint.

We have the best offensive line in the Big Ten? Its good but I don't believe the best... Yet. The 4 losses have definitely hurt us, and these glaring weaknesses wouldn't have been noticed as much with Braxtons legs. Losing out on Kraemer and Eichenberg would certainly hurt from a production standpoint as we need to bring in multiple elite Olinemen yearly to compete at a national level. We don't even know what young guys will pan out so the more talent we bring in the more Warriner has to work with.

Norwell was a 5 star, Hall was a borderline 5 star (I think a 5 star on Scout), Mewhort and Linsley were high 4 stars, as was Decker. But agreed on the OL this year, mostly 3 stars and position changes across the board. As to Eichenberg, he would be the highest ranked OL we've had here since Adams if he remains top 10ish nationally.
