BUCKEYES RECRUITING OHIO JUNIORS
Liam Eichenberg. St. Ignatius. The number-six offensive tackle nationally, and a player that continues to get better each week. This was once a three-way battle among Ohio State, Notre Dame and Michigan, but the problems in Ann Arbor might have them in the rear view mirror right now. OUTLOOK:I definitely think Ohio State can win this one over Notre Dame, but it won't be easy.

I've always thought the argument that such and such school will get you to the NFL, blah, blah was way overblown. I've always felt that a talented player has pretty much just as much chance from a MAC school as OSU. That being said, I think Warinner will get some guys into the NFL who wouldn't get there with different D1 coaching. I hope recruits like Eichenberg are taking notice.

It's pay. But good news, we CANNOT lose Eichenberg after missing on Kramer. If we get two of the big three (Eichenberg and Gerald), it would be a pretty good day. Almost a flashback to the Ohio "Big 3" of Brown, Boren, and Smith, except we hopefully get more than 1 this time on signing day. Plus, I am less concerned about the distant future at tackle after the Myers commit, plus Feder and Schmidt. But from a standpoint of keeping the trenches stocked and keeping Ohio's best in-state, Eichenberg is a must.
