Official Work Vent Thread

I have caught my people sleeping at work more than just a few times, but it is always after an all nighter or during a 100 hour week. Depending on the circumstances, I typically let them go for a bit.

To be honest, I used to do it too when I was an analyst. Just part of the gig.

My library has a little room that only I have a key to, where I will sneak in a nap on the floor after a long night out. Then I just tell everyone I was roaming the stacks.

I have to return to work on MONDAY! I never wanted to "take a break". Pussies couldn't handle the cold. Now, I have to go back to work the week of my birthday and the start of March Madness. Fuckers!

Maybe I will be the only one who uses this thread to vent about my job, but that is fine. I'd prefer to get it off my chest as opposed to being on a bell tower somewhere in Ann Arbor.

I come in this morning and find a document on my desk with a little hand-written note from my boss on it. It is for an annual grant request that is due every year around this time. Well, this year the application is due three days ago. Fortunately, the note tells me not to worry about it. I guess I should not since the dates on it make me realize it has been sitting on his mess of a desk for a month and a half now.

If it is not a priority for him it is not one for me. Plus, it sure is too damn late to do anything with it now since the deadline has come and gone.

Along that same vein, here my fav...

"We just signed a contract to do such and such. Why don't you take a look at it and tell us if there's any tax saving opportunities."

Here's a clue...why don't you let me look at it before you sign?

My gf had hers last night. She said she isn't sure what is worse, the parents who don't care, or the ones that are overbearing. :)

As for My job......I whore that does the server schedule sucks. Explain to me while everyone is getting 3 shifts a week and they feel the need to hire more servers. fucking dumbasses.

You must work for Ruby Tuesdays. They staff so that their servers get at least one table per shift.
