Official Work Vent Thread

Maybe I will be the only one who uses this thread to vent about my job, but that is fine. I'd prefer to get it off my chest as opposed to being on a bell tower somewhere in Ann Arbor.

I come in this morning and find a document on my desk with a little hand-written note from my boss on it. It is for an annual grant request that is due every year around this time. Well, this year the application is due three days ago. Fortunately, the note tells me not to worry about it. I guess I should not since the dates on it make me realize it has been sitting on his mess of a desk for a month and a half now.

If it is not a priority for him it is not one for me. Plus, it sure is too damn late to do anything with it now since the deadline has come and gone.

Actually I don't mind it.

You learn an AWFUL LOT about why a student acts the way they do when you meet the parents/guardians.

Do you count how many times you get blamed for a student's poor performance?
