Official NCAA 2007 Info Thread (Merged)

i have it for 360 and it is fun..but the way the ohio state helmet looks is odd..really a dark gunmetal gray with a white facemask..kind of irritating..there are some features missing from 360 like being able to edit equipment and body styles but the game is fun..

well, didn't take long for the patented EA 360 bug to happen. As soon as my first game ended I was exiting to go save and it said "disc unreadable"!!! I asked a few of my friends who got it and they also had the same problem. WTF is up with EA and their games doing this on the 360? It's really pissing me off.

I just played my first game on my XBOX, and a few things stood out.

After almost every handoff Troy Smith runs ahead of me to block a linebacker or defensive tackle.

Its harder to get sacks than it was last year. Last year I could play on All-American and end up with 10 sacks without myself even rushing the passer. In my first game this year I ended up with about 5 hurries but no sacks.

Pittman is very underrated, but Troy Smith and Ted Ginn Jr. are amazing.

Just got the game.... got it for 39.99 and the strategy guide came with it free. It really was a great deal, over at circuit city.

Just looking through the strategy guide, and WTF Samardija is rated a 96!!!! TGII is only a 93, while Troy Smith is a 95 behind Quinn, who is a 97.

It's also an insult to see that Notre Dame and our defense are rated the same, a B+.

I took my game out and wiped it off, now it actually saves and works fine.

There are still some annoying problems with the game play.

-Running was damn near impossible against Texas. As soon as I handed the ball off someone was tackling the back. It was like the line wasn't there.

-Receivers still won't break to open spots on the field on broken plays, they either run the defender toward the quarterback, stand there in one spot, or run straight out of bounds.

-The new ways to call hot routes and motion sucks, same with defensive calls

-And finally, the quick snap thing is a stupid make-up feature for the lack of Spring Game, create-a-school (etc). The computer doing the fake camera move that my friends won't even do just pisses me off.

-The Tug-of-War and other mini-games are pretty cool though.

I'm sure it will grow on me, but it takes some getting used to. The graphics are pretty good, though lineman have the infamous stretched torso. Ohio State's helmets are too dark, and after the face mask argument, yes it does make a difference. The white face mask looks really dumb.

But that's all I have to say at this point, still can't beat college football though.

I like the game, but I do agree that there are alot of flaws as always. The comment about the O-line being non-existent for a majority of the game is dead on. I even had an incident where they were rushing 3, and one guy still got right through on the snap. Also love how defensive ends can chase TS down from behind. I do with that 2k could make a college football game, cause EA will never get it right.

With that said, I never expect EA to get it right, so I am never disappointed. I do like the game overall, but alot of things take some time to get used to. In lighter news............Wells is a beast

The thing I like most about the game (PS2 version) is all of the new offensive and defensive formations. 4-3 over and 4-3 under are almost exactly the formations on defense that OSU runs so I really like those, plus there are many, many new offensive formations.

Other than that I don't really see a significant difference in the graphics. I'd even go as far as to say it's almost exactly the same game graphically. The new kicking system is pretty cool, and the kick return system takes some getting used to (camera angle right behind the returner) but it's alright.

The thing I noticed the most about game play (so far) is that passing the ball seems to be easier while busting long runs seems to be harder (long being 40+ yards). The DBs seem to react better against the run making long runs hard to get while at the same time receivers react better to passes, often times coming back to the ball and making a catch that would have bounced off their helmet or they would have stood and waited for and gotten swatted down in previous games.

I don't know if it's worth paying 50$ for if you already have '06. But since this is pretty much the only game a buy the whole year, I'd say it was worth it to get. Oh yeah, and I haven't even had time to check out the new Dynasty features like a spring game yet, so that might be pretty cool also.
