Danielson is one of the best color-commentators in the business, and has been for a long, long time.

I'll take any one of the people mentioned over the butchy chick ESPN 2 puts on there occasionally.
Personally, I love to listen to Gary Danielson. I feel like he gives adequate information but doesn't over analyze like Herbie does. Jesse Palmer is a poor mans Herbie. They signed him because he is GQ but his ability in the booth is just slightly ahead of Taos' joke-telling-ability. Ya, I'm from Newark too, Butt fuck.

Hell at least Madden accomplished something in his career.

Palmer nearly drove Steve Spurrier from football, tried to hook up with some skanks on a reality TV show and wears clip-on ties.....

Posters have to stop holding an announcer's analysis up to the same standards that they've established on a message board. I constantly hear that 99 percent of announcers suck from message board posters. It's just different speaking in front of millions of people live as opposed to carefully composing a written piece. You don't get any second chances on live TV and you may need one due to the nerves creeping in. I'd bet most announcers from time to time express an opinion they don't really believe. And in the case of ESPN they often encourage that. Judge writers one to one to what's expressed on a message board. Announcers should be judged relative to other announcers. Jesse Palmer is decent relative to other announcers. Now Chris Spielman on the other hand......he's the worst in major college sports. Can't take too much offense to that because I think 51 percent in that area of broadcasting went to OSU.

I care about what they're saying, not what they look like. I think Speilman is a great announcer because what he says is so relevant and not self promotion. I love listening to Gary Danielson despite his love for the Dali Tebow because he just knows football. Not interested in the glamor show and ratings boosters.
