The most I've ever seen a espn poll w/ more than one choice, be so one sided

No one can be state/team/region biased

I got to watch the first half of the Argentina game this morning while I was getting ready for work. I really don't think South Korea is a bad team--in fact, they may well still advance. But Argentina, despite their issues during qualifying the past two years, made them look like a B-league team. Argentina looks REALLY talented and dangerous, especially up front and through the midfield. I think they have to be a favorite at this point, their back line and it's occasional mental lapses being the only thing that may fail them. There's also always the possibility that Marandona will go out on the town, snort a mountain of coke, drink a liter of booze, gorge himself with cheap food while being fellated by prostitutes until he falls into a deep slumber, and then not show the next day for a match. I still think Argentina could win without him, though.

Spot on assessment.

Nigeria scores on a free-kick because the Greek goalie screwed the pooch. Thought there would be a redirect and slid one way...no one touched it and he looks like an idiot trying to avoid the ball.

Did that Nigerian really just do that?

The Greek guy pushed the ball into Kaita's chest after Kaita bumped him as the ball went over the touchline. Kaita immediately kicked up his leg, brushing the outside of the Greek's thigh. The Greek fell like he was drilled in his dolmas, and the ref came over to red card Kaita.

So Nigeria is up 1-0, but down a man.

I think both guys should have received yellow cards.

Oh, the irony. After getting a goal when the Greek keeper played a deflection that never came, they give up a goal on a deflection their keeper couldn't anticipate.

Somebody needs to tell these guys to start diving the other way.

I saw the push with the ball, but raising your cleat and showing your studs towards a guy's thigh is going to draw a red card, imo.

Completely embellished by the Greek, and he probably deserved a yellow for his push as the ball was out-of-bounds if not for his terrible acting at least.

Needless to say, that sending off has completely changed this match. Greece looked well on their way to finishing the group stage in the same pathetic fashion as the USA's performance in '98. They're still not likely to move on, but the man advantage has breathed life into their game and allowed them to pull even in this match.
