Official FIFA 2010 World Cup Discussion

Findley gets a yellow card for an alleged handball that bounced off his face. This ref is clueless.

That puts Findley out for the third match, which won't bother me since I'd rather see Buddle in there anyway, but it's still a shitty call.

Not sure what happened to the US team that beat Spain and almost beat Brazil last year but they sure didn't show up for the World Cup. :shake:

So Serbia bouncing Germany makes that group, and our potential next opponent, very interesting. If Ghana beats Australia like they should, they will be in a position to potentially win the group, which could mean Germany could finish 2nd. Could we get a rematch with Ghana after they (for all intents and purposes) knocked us out of the last Cup?

you're already talking about the round of 16? I'm scared to death about beating Algeria right now. It's not a foregone conclusion that we advance. We MUST WIN vs Algeria.

No chance in the world Algeria ever beats or even ties us. Why, that is as impossible as Appalachian State going into the Pig House and coming out with a win.

What? That happened? Oh, never mind.

This is US soccer...after suffering through 1998 and 2006, there is no way I am taking anything for granted. Just hypothesizing since we have several days until our next match.

We can beat Ghana this time around, if we get the chance. We got SCREWED today. There is no excuse for how we played the first half, but there is no excuse for that officiating either.

We need Algeria to win or draw with England, and then USA wins on Wednesday and we move on unless England scores a TON of goals against Slovakia.

I'll bet you all of my vcash that England won't score any goals against Slovakia on 6/23
