Official Cleveland Browns Draft Thread

ESPN's Ed Werder reports there is a chance the Oakland Raiders work out a trade with the Cleveland Browns during the first round of the NFL Draft. There is speculation the Browns could send WR Braylon Edwards to the Raiders in addition to the No. 3 pick overall for the first-overall selection.

Please God, Please. How great would this be to get rid of Braylon and trade up to #1 all in one move?? From there they should trade down to #4 with the Bucs and pick up extra picks in the 2nd Round or just draft Calvin. :banger:

DONE. I would do it in a heartbeat as long as the deal doesn't require any picks other than swapping the 1st rounders. Get Braylon out and CJ in please.

This was a great article that I hope all browns fans read. It details examples and further proof about why the Browns have taken so long to try to become respectable and how Butch Davis's draft decisions put this team back for many years. Can you believe we could have ended up with Richard Seymour instead of Big "Waste of" Money Gerrard Warren. :( Oh well I am confident that they are turning things around and the future begins tomorrow with the draft. GO BROWNIES! WOOF, WOOF, WOOF!

This would be absolutely stupid. First, you basically admit that you screwed up 2 years ago. Secondly, he's only been in the league 2 years, and suffered an ACL tear.

Third, and more importantly, a combination of BE + JT/AP/JR/Quinn is far, far > just CJ.

well isnt that the first step to recovery is admiting mistakes? The browns are known for effing up drafts and they will continue to do it this year.

and also BE + JT/AP/JR/BQ is not better then CJ.

Agreed great post. Unload Braylon if you get the chance. He doesn't play hard, drops balls, and is no better now than when he was at UM. As much as I hate Winslow at least there is no doubt that he is giving it his all which is what you expect from an NFL player. You can't get the effort from Braylon. That's why I believe you get rid of him if you can and get CJ. Hell even if they don't unload Braylon I would like the Browns to take CJ or Thomas.

i'm not a Braylon fan either, but you've got to get better value than that. He was the #3 overall pick just a couple years ago and you're going to give him up to move up two spots? he does have talent and i just think you can get more than that. i know the draft value chart would probably say different but i'd rather trade him for a 2nd rounder than to use him to move up. use that 2nd rounder to take the best available WR. in my mind there's not that much difference b/w picks 1-3. just take whomever's left of Thomas, CJ or Russell.

If we traded up to #1 it would be to get Russell... I could live with that and draft a WR later because this draft is deep with WR

You must be joking right? To me the Browns would be getting a steal of a deal. Braylon was and is so overrated. He drops passes all the time, does not have game breaking speed and has a shitty attitude. He's like a mini TO without the talent. It's not like it's a revelation that he drops passes, look at the game against the Bucks where he dropped that critical pass. He dropped a shit load of passes last season for the Browns. They guy is not that good and should never have been taken #3 overall. MAKE THIS TRADE NOW if it is true.

Heard on ESPN radio a little while ago (since 4 pm) that the rumors were circulating that the Raiders were in contract talks with BQ at that very moment. I know it doesn't mean much, but with all this dead time between right now and noon tomorrow, this could mean several different scenarios or nothing at all. Just mentioning...

Please, Raiders! You can have him!

Agreed. Let Oakland have him. Just wondering what does everyone think about drafting Drew Stanton if we don't take a QB in round 1 or 2. What is Stanton projected to go at anyway?
